motherhood can feel surprisingly lonely sometimes. so much of your day is spent pouring into little people, and conversations often come in broken sentences between snack requests, sand-covered hands, and “mom, watch this!”
yesterday reminded me how much i need friendship too.
a last-minute beach morning turned into exactly what my heart had been craving. while the kids ran into the waves, dug endless holes in the sand, and giggled through their own little conversations, we actually got to sit, breathe, and talk. no rushing. no chasing them in opposite directions. just watching them build friendships while we were able to nurture ours.
one of my favorite parts of watching olive grow is seeing her become her own little person. hearing her laugh with a friend, listening to their tiny conversations, and watching them make memories together is something i never want to take for granted.
it wasn’t anything extravagant. just a slow morning by the ocean with good company. but sometimes those are the moments that fill your cup the most.
