God declares the UNGODLY "righteous" ... the MOMENT they BELIEVE.
Saving faith is NOT promising God something ... it is BELIEVING what God already "testified concerning His Son."
What EXACTLY is someone BELIEVING when they believe “unto salvation”?
They are believing the MESSAGE of the good news ... that "Christ died for our sins, was buried, and rose again according to the scriptures (1 Cor. 15:3–4).
So WHAT HAPPENS at the EXACT "moment" someone believes the gospel (1 Cor. 15:1-4)?
I contend from my understanding of Scripture ... that INSTANTLY, God:
.. justifies them, reconciles them, SEALS them, indwells them, baptizes them into Christ, "redeems them," forgives them COMPLETELY, grants eternal life, gives them full sonship, and makes them co-heirs with Christ.
In THAT moment ... when you are persuaded to believe "God's record concerning His Son (1 Jn 5:10)" ... when you believe the "gospel message" as TRUE ... you HAVE "imputed righteousness."
This is God crediting righteousness to your account APART from works (Rom. 4:6–8).
CHRIST’S righteousness becomes YOURS!
Our inheritance ... is Christ Himself (Eph. 1:11)
And ALL THESE things ... are entirely apart from works. Other than the work of Christ.
If any work is added ... either front-end or back-end ... SALVATION is "no longer" based upon the grace of God. Period.
