If you only know me as an artist, you won't know that animals are an ever bigger part of my life than music. My last month was full of some of the most important shows I've played yet, and while things may have appeared all happy & great on social media- behind the scenes I've been a heartbroken woman who just lost her baby 🐕💔😢. I'm sharing this glimpse into my personal life & my grief as a reminder that we never really know what people are going through, so please always be gentle & kind.

My mission in this life is to spread as much love and good energy as possible. Every time I step onstage or interact with others, I try to uplift and leave them feeling better than before. It was tough to play these shows and radiate positivity while I was so sad and feeling like I could break down at any thought of her, but I knew she wouldn't want that. She always uplifted me and made my life better, so I chose to get up there and channel her spirit for others in her honor.

The amount of love I have for Annabelle is matched only by how good of a dog she was, her 100% sweet loving demeanor, her resilience to the brutally tough challenges life threw her way, the depth of pain I have losing her, and the void she leaves behind. I'm grateful for every moment of her perfect personality since she joined our family June 18, 2015.

She taught those in her life that all we really need is love. So please - cherish your loved ones every single day, and do not take time with them, or health, for granted. Life on earth is a precious miracle and in these crazy times it is easy to forget that, but there is so much beauty and magic around us too.
