It's been quiet on this page. Nothing has changed or stopped in regards to the wedding industry marketing, but Tomoro now has a new line of business in the world. I've dug deeper into the wedding industry side. A step that allows me to work in real life with local wedding vendors and real couples, and surround myself with the people in this industry.

This venture is separate and deserves its own space and voice - Quite literally.

I'd love for you to follow along on this venture with me - It's going to take a little while to ramp up (Because wedding lead times are not quick), but support is support.

Do you have a rental? Kick out your tenants now!

If you have a rental home that is in a sought after area with great wifi and amenities, you are whom I'm talking to.

(Airbnb CEO) reiterated the fact the other day on twitter that fortune 100 companies are giving the green light for their employees to work remotely.

Cue in the Digital Nomad!

What's a digital nomad? A working professional that is not bound to an area or location and can work from anywhere that has wifi.

What does this mean for vacation rentals?It means that you have the opportunity to secure longer stays which include the harder to sell nights such as Monday and Tuesdays.

Just on my closing note, I don't really suggest kicking out your tenants.... But it's worth a weigh up 😉

Wedding professionals, listen up!

Do you know that the average American couples engagement length is 15 months! That means your marketing efforts need to be for over a year away!

Yes you will get the shorter lead times in between, but focus on the long game and plan for that, everything else is a bonus and you can create promotions in between.

Love emojis or hate emojis, there is no getting around the fact that a picture can paint 1000 words! 💁🏻 (Even as we speak, my Grammarly tells me via emoji how my copy is coming across my audience 🎯 )

An average of 53% of Millenials and Gen Z use social media to research and find their holiday destination.

What does that mean for you?

It would be best if you were consistent on Social Media. That doesn't mean showing up every day (as long as your goal isn't to grow a volume following). I would suggest 3-5 times per week with quality over quantity.

Consider working with a Micro-Influencer (an influencer with a smaller yet more engaged audience).
If you take this route, make sure you and the influencer have clear guidelines on what's expected from each other for this project. Eg: Do you expect them to show multiple parts of your product and service offerings? Then ensure that they have access to the very best to allow them to create their best work. Eg, Make sure they have the best rooms, views, VIP F&B offerings, or spa access.
Before going this route, ensure you have a contract to make sure both parties are crystal clear on what is expected out of this partnership.

It would help if you were using relevant hashtags and location-based hashtags so users can find you when they are searching by hashtags.

Celebrate and post about other local businesses that compliment your own. If you are a Holiday Villa, share insider tips of the local's favorite restaurants or coffee shops. This helps give customers planning advice but also helps your exposure and being re-shared via local services.

Got a beautiful space? Invite local photographers to use it for any shoots they have in exchange for a plug on their socials. This strategy gives you local relationships, more professional photo content, and exposure via the photographer on their platforms.

Use short video content where possible.

Social media is a hot button pusher!

Multiple platforms that are full of so many opinions and controversial topics. It’s hard not to get sucked in and go down a rabbit hole.

I just found myself reading a thread on Covid and the vaccine for children to attend school. The conversation got heated, and I also found myself getting riled at the comments. I made the decision then and there to delete that group from my feed. I didn’t need it anymore, and it was becoming a toxic place.

Here is a social media housekeeping tip. If an account, person, or group are no longer serving you in a way that is helpful or makes you feel good, get rid of it. You have outgrown it!

You will always go through seasons in your life that you need to be involved in community groups, business groups, or even different friend groups, but seasons are fluid, and they pass with time, and so do social media accounts.
