Uneasy lies the head that wears the crown.
Shares of artificial intelligence czar Nvidia fell 2.6% on Tuesday as signs of unrest continued rippling through its kingdom.
Over the month, Nvidia has been contending with concerns over lofty valuations and an argument from the “The Big Short” investor Michael Burry that companies may be overestimating the lifespan of Nvidia’s chips. That accounting choice inflates profits, he alleged.
The pressure intensified last week in the form of a potential challenger to the crown. Google on Nov. 18 announced the release of its new AI model Gemini 3 — so far so good, given that Nvidia isn’t

Asia-Pacific markets opened higher Wednesday, tracking Wall Street gains on hopes that the U.S. Federal Reserve could cut benchmark interest rates in December.
Expectations rose after Bloomberg reported that White House National Economic Council Director Kevin Hassett was being considered as the frontrunner to become the next Fed chair. Investors see Hassett as someone more likely to push the central bank toward a lower-rate environment favored by President Donald Trump.
Treasury Secretary Scott Bessent told CNBC on Tuesday that there was a “very good chance” that Trump could name new Fed chair before Christmas.

Six Democratic lawmakers are facing federal inquiries after they recorded a video urging military service members not to follow unlawful orders, a message President Trump alleged was “seditious.”
“Our laws are clear: You can refuse illegal orders. … You must refuse illegal orders,” said the Democrats, all of whom served in the military or worked for U.S. intelligence agencies.
Mr. Trump responded on Truth Social last week: “Each one of these traitors to our Country should be ARRESTED AND PUT ON TRIAL.”
Days later, the Pentagon said it was reviewing “serious allegations of misconduct” against one of the lawmakers, Sen. Mark Kelly of Arizona, and may recall the retired naval captain to active-duty status for “court-martial proceedings or administrative measu

That is perhaps no surprise: A former investment banker, Dmitriev has increasingly served as a back-channel communicator between the Kremlin and allies of US President Donald Trump, despite being on the US sanctions list.
Dmitriev’s lack of formal diplomatic credentials may work in his favor, said Boris Bondarev, a former Russian diplomat who quit in protest after Russia’s 2022 invasion. In sending Dmitriev to talk with Steve Witkof

Louvre jewel heist investigation nets 4 more arrests, authorities say - https://oolanews.com/world/louvre-heist-paris-more-arrests/ -

Four more people were arrested Tuesday in the investigation into last month’s spectacular daylight heist of imperial jewels from the Louvre Museum, French authorities announced.
Paris prosecutor Laure Beccuau, whose office is heading the investigation, described the suspects as two men aged 38 and 39 and two women aged 31 and 40 from the Paris region.
Her statement didn’t say what role they’re suspected of having played in the Oct. 19 theft. Police can hold them for questioning for 96 hours.
The loot, valued at around $102 million, hasn’t been recovered. It includes a diamond-and-emerald necklace Napoleon gave to Empress Marie-Louise, jewels tied to 19th-century Queens Marie-Amélie and Hortense, and Empress Eugénie’s pearl-and-diamond tiara.
The thieves dropped a diamond-and-emerald-studded crown that once belonged to Eugénie, the wife

9 tigers seized every month as global trafficking crisis decimates big cat populations, report says - https://oolanews.com/world/tiger-global-trafficking-crisis-decimates-big-cat-populations-report/ -

Authorities worldwide have seized an average of nine tigers each month over the past five years, highlighting a worsening trafficking crisis that threatens the survival of one of the planet’s most iconic species, according to research released Tuesday.

Despite half a century of international protection, TRAFFIC’s findings showed that tiger trafficking is accelerating and increasingly targeting whole animals, living or dead. Experts say the shift appears linked to captive-breeding operations, but may also reflect t
