: Best hikes to do in April in the Bay Area 🌿🌼

Take a peek inside my camera roll from last year. This is hands down one of the prettiest times to explore with wildflowers, green hills, and perfect weather!

Here are some of my favorite spots to visit in April 🌼

1. Ed R. Levin County Park (Milpitas)
2. Vargas Plateau Regional Park (Fremont)- went March 29 & still blooming!
3. Del Valley Regional Park (Livermore)
4. Baylands Nature Preserve (Palo Alto)
5. Shoreline Lake Park (Mountain View)
6. Cayetano Park Trails (Livermore) for mustard blooms
7. Japanese Garden San Mateo (San Mateo)
8. Mist Trail Yosemite (Yosemite National Park)
9. Rancho San Antonio Open Space Preserve (Cupertino)
10. Máyyan ‘Ooyákma – Coyote Ridge Open Space Preserve (San Jose)
11. Tunnel Tops Park (San Francisco) for spring blooms
12. Mori Point (Pacifica) -I went in May & but it starts blooming in April.
13. Sunol Regional Wilderness (Sunol) - went on March 30,2025

Save this for your April spring outings this month.

4 free gardens to visit this spring in the Bay Area 🌸

1. San Mateo Japanese Garden – A peaceful hidden garden inside Central Park with koi ponds, bridges, and cherry blossoms in spring.

2. Allied Arts Guild, Menlo Park – A beautiful historic courtyard garden with flowers, fountains, and European-style architecture. One of my favorite aesthetic spots.

3. Gamble Garden, Palo Alto – A small but stunning historic garden that blooms every spring with tulips, roses, and wisteria. Perfect for a quiet walk.

4. Municipal Rose Garden, San Jose – One of the prettiest rose gardens in California with thousands of roses blooming in the spring and summer.

These gardens are perfect if you want flowers, peaceful walks, and pretty photo spots without paying an entry fee.

These are all easy to visit, family-friendly, and great for a slow morning, picnic, or weekend plan. I try to go every year when the blooms start.

Save this for spring plans, and send it to someone who loves flowers and hidden spots!
