Civil rights activist Camille Yarbrough first released Take Yo’ Praise 50 years ago.

It was written as a love letter to African-American men, inspired by a moment of spiritual awakening, and a devastating family secret involving Camille's father being the victim of sexual violence as a child.

Disco Soldier Sunday is a FREE (donation based), monthly day-eve vinyl, dance & art event in San Francisco thrown at Yerba Buena Estudios, for the love of our community focusing on decolonization. We specialize in dance music & sharing of knowledge in all forms experimental, ambient, atmospheric, jungle, drum n bass, broken beat, dub, hip-hop, spoken word, funk, disco, house, acid & techno. Cozy dance floor provided with a Funktion- One sound system. The entire event will also be live streaming to our collective website & uploaded to YouTube.

There will be music performances but it’s going to be more than just music. Interviews with artists, cool vendors, tea, yummy food (ALCOHOL FREE), dj classes & documentaries. Come free your b***y with us! 💃🏽
