It’s pretty straightforward…you aren’t willing to face your pain, your injuries, your setbacks head on.

You’ll talk about them, you’ll complain about them, you’ll use them as excuses…you’ll spend a bunch of energy dwelling on them but that’s where it stops.

So you settle for avoidance, either drifting into fragility or coping…masking through the “grind” mentality, just kicking the can down the road.

Want to finally ditch pain? Those nagging injuries? The constant setbacks?

Listen to them. Be honest with yourself and your current experience.

What are you confident in doing? What makes you feel hesitant and limited? What are your strengths? What are your deficits?

It’s an ongoing assessment that most people are too scared to do…because, to be honest, it hurts. It will often come with some self judgement, and it cuts deep.

BUT going through all of that is the path to ditching that energy and soul sucking cycle of pain, injury and constant setbacks.

Now this may make sense, it may be super confusing, I swear I’m not trying to be esoteric, I’m just being real with you in the way that I’m real and honest with myself.

Are you trusting or posturing?

This experience has been alive in my practice. Noticing the excessive energy and fixation on posture, the need to correct and control my body to fit this expectation of shape, size and support.

But in this effort to fix, I notice I’m participating in the act of “posturing.” And the felt experience resembles me trying to be something that I’m not. And in that moment, I’m not present, I’m not trusting myself, I’m not allowing my experience to simply happen.

Im forcing it.

Now, I’m taking true responsibility for my experience, I notice I can shift the attention away from fixation and posturing into a space of trust, acceptance and allowance.

It’s ditching the analytical intelligence and dropping deeper into the somatic intelligence.

In its most cliche form - get of the head, get into the body.

In the realms of the fast paced fitness and health optimization, this may seem like a step back, a regression..and honestly it may be.

But we must truly GROUND in order to GROW.

So let’s keep it a buck…most of us have sh*tty roots. Tend to the garden, root down, w**d out the energy drain of fixation, and truly begin to build up from a strong foundation.

The “Heels to the ground” cue is robbing you of REAL mobility.

Yes, getting those heels to the ground is an expression of mobility that we want to unlock…but the way to truly own this range and position starts with…lifting your heels.

This progression of exercises makes the deep squat more accessible with deeper connection.

AND it’s the path to dropping those heels to the ground and finally owning that deep squat.

From Oct 19 – Nov 15, 2025, I’ll be guiding movement at the Conscious Fitness Co-Live in Peniche, Portugal with

Here’s what we’ll be getting into:

- Morning + evening movement sessions (strength, mobility, primal flows, play)

- Living in modern villas with private rooms, pools, yoga shala, co-work area

- Shared meals, surf, nature, community, and space to reset

We are keeping the group small so it stays personal. Which means space is LIMITED.
