Looking for a dog-friendly day trip in NorCal that has a little bit of everything? Think a scenic lakeside walk, a charming Main Street lined with shops (including a new dog boutique), and a farm stand where your pup might just boop noses with a donkey.
This easy 3.1-mile loop trail winds along the water with rolling hill views the whole way, taking about an hour to complete. It’s a local favorite for an early morning walk and has a fence- in dog park.
This local coffee shop is the perfect breakfast stop to fuel the rest of your day. They’re known for third wave, fair trade organic coffee alongside fresh baked goods and breakfast sandos. The patio is tucked behind a garden wall for a cozy, semi-private spot to enjoy breakfast with your pup. Order ahead - there was nearly a line out the door when we arrived at 9 a.m.
Buck Avenue is lined with beautifully preserved Victorian homes dating back to the late 1800s, making it one of the best spots in Vacaville for a slow architecture walk. Concentrate your walk around the Vacaville Museum to see the best houses.
Downtown Vacaville’s Main Street is packed with independent shops and eateries, including Cool Dawgs, a new dog boutique and bakery with the cutest storefront on the block.
This working farm stand is home to rows of herbs and succulents, plus a few friendly donkeys who are always up for a nose-boop if your dog is well-behaved.
