An 82-year-old crossing guard in San Francisco's Bayview has worked one corner for so long that it no longer goes by the street names. Outside George Washington Carver Elementary School, everyone calls it "Granna's Corner."

San Francisco 49ers rookie receiver De'Zhaun Stribling is expected to miss at least two months after undergoing surgery on his injured left ankle. Stribling got hurt in the season opener last week against the Los Angeles Rams and coach Kyle Shanahan said that he opted for surgery.

Shanahan said Stribling would go on injured reserve later this week and was expected to miss about 10 weeks. The 49ers also placed backup tight end Jake Tonges on injured reserve with a season-ending knee injury that required surgery on a torn MCL.

A home intruder in San Diego was arrested, no thanks in part to Nash, a 90-pound golden retriever, who was caught on home security footage bringing toys to the man who broke into his family's home.

Video also showed the intruder breaking in, taking his shirt off, eating food and taking a nap near the front door. The 4-year-old pup also greeted police with a toy as they arrived to arrest the man, who surrendered to police after attempting to escape out of the back of the house.

Mayor Matt Mahan said homelessness in San Jose has dropped by 32% in the last year and a half, according to a new tracking system to take a count of people who are on the streets

Mayor Matt Mahan said the new data-tracking system, UrbanLogiq, estimates that roughly 3,700 people are still living in the streets. Down from the last internal city count of just over 5,400.
