I’ve got the Insta360 X6 right here, and I bet you didn’t know this was possible.

This is a quick release for the Insta360 Ace Pro 2. But watch this, did you also know it works for the X5? I had no idea. But on top of that, did you know it works for the X6 too? Pretty cool.

My love of photography has taken me all over the world, and I’ve seen so much because of it.

But I’ve never believed my career was built solely on that love. Paris, my favorite city Los Angeles, F1 in Vegas, all over Thailand, every one of these shots came from showing up, putting in the work, and treating this as a craft, not just a passion project.

Still, my love of capturing has led every part of my life, content creator, creative director, and a career in software and UX. Every crack in my life has been led by my love of the lens.

I packed three bags for a Moab trip. Only one made it on the actual hike.

Mounted the Insta360 X6 on the hood, ND filter on, and used it as my only camera the whole way up. At the top, I put it down and pulled out a watercolor kit instead. Turns out a camera shows you what something looked like, painting made me notice what it actually felt like.

The X6 brings flagship imaging to 360 cameras, dual Sony 1/1.1” square sensors, 8K 50fps 360° video, native Dolby Vision, and I-Log with 10-bit color. It also combines 360°, gimbal tracking, and wide-angle shooting in one camera, with AI tools like Auto Edit and AI Director making the whole workflow easier.

I can finally say it, the new Insta360 camera I’ve been testing has a name: the Insta360 X6.

Can’t show it today, that’s tomorrow, but I can tell you what’s under the hood. A 1” equivalent sensor, paired with a brand new AI triple chip system for way better image quality, and it shoots true 10-bit color with I-Log, so there’s a lot more room to grade footage in post.

This is just day one. Tomorrow you see it.
