We went out as a group and our total bill came to $314.17. Everything was good—food and service included—so we left a $60 tip, which we thought was fair.
What caught us off guard was the server’s reaction. Instead of a simple thank you, she mentioned she was expecting something closer to $100. It didn’t really feel like a joke in the moment. When we asked about it, she tried to brush it off, but the tone still felt a bit off.
Now I’m honestly left wondering… was a $60 tip on a $314.17 bill unreasonable, or was that expectation a bit high? 🤔
