Crispy golden fries piled high with saucy sloppy Joe beef, creamy melted cheese, crunchy Doritos, and cool sour cream. It’s the ultimate mash-up of loaded fries and nachos!
Ingredients
* 1 bag (28–32 oz) frozen French fries
* 1 lb ground beef
* 1 small onion, diced
* 2 cloves garlic, minced
* 1 cup tomato sauce
* 2 tbsp ketchup
* 1 tbsp brown sugar
* 1 tbsp Worcestershire sauce
* 1 tsp yellow mustard
* 1 tsp chili powder
* ½ tsp smoked paprika
* ½ tsp salt
* ¼ tsp black pepper
* 1½ cups shredded cheddar cheese
* ½ cup shredded Monterey Jack cheese
* 1 cup crushed Doritos
* ½ cup sour cream
* 2 green onions, sliced
* ¼ cup diced pickled jalapeños, optional
Instructions
1. **Crisp the fries:**
Prepare the French fries according to the package directions until golden and extra crispy. For the best results, use an air fryer or bake them on a preheated sheet pan.
2. **Make the sloppy Joe beef:**
Heat a large skillet over medium-high heat. Add the ground beef and onion. Cook for 6–8 minutes, breaking up the beef as it browns. Drain excess grease.
3. **Build the sauce:**
Add garlic, tomato sauce, ketchup, brown sugar, Worcestershire sauce, mustard, chili powder, smoked paprika, salt, and pepper. Stir well and simmer for **5–7 minutes**, until thick and saucy.
4. **Layer the fries:**
Spread the crispy fries onto a large oven-safe platter or baking sheet. Spoon the sloppy Joe mixture evenly over the top.
5. **Add the cheese:**
Sprinkle cheddar and Monterey Jack over the beef. Place under the broiler for **1–2 minutes**, watching closely, until the cheese is melted and bubbly.
6. **Make them nachos:**
Scatter crushed Doritos over the cheesy fries. Add dollops of sour cream and sprinkle with sliced green onions.
7. **Finish and serve:**
Add pickled jalapeños for a tangy kick, if desired. Serve immediately while the fries are hot and crispy.
