Did I ruin my front yard..?😂

I wanted to add some stairs to my front yard only on the steep part. Big stones or planks are not allowed (or I have to get a permit) So I just carved it into stairs and covered with mulch and on top I put small white rocks. Should I just undo everything or does it look OK? Also I wonder if it will look better when the weeds grow on vertical sides of the stairs.. did I ruin my front yard? 😂😂

Has anyone ever seen a basketball court made from the cut ends of 2x4s?
I have always been amazed at how long and tedious this must have been to cut and get them all the same height after making thousands if cuts.

But one question has always nagged me? Why? Why!

Surely it was cheaper than real flooring planks, but who has time to lay this?

So Sad, I found this little box in a drawer last nite. I don’t know how long it has been there. Many years ago I guess because I had forgotten about it and was totally surprised myself. It has been near or in a fire at sometime. It is scorched o pretty bad but I thought for some reason that i would save it. I opened the lid and it is dated 1841 and has the makers name . It has some rose colored nails in it. I am thinking shaker but a damaged one. It could possible got darker with age but almost a fire box at one time.,this box is 51/4”. Not very big at all.

I clean for my elderly neighbors twice a week. Every time I clean there is this white stuff all over the floors in every room except the bathrooms. The pic is just one small bedroom. I am stumped on what it could be coming from, they have no idea. It’s almost sand like. Any ideas? lol
