Parent Award for Teaching Life, not just Dance - Liberty Dance Co
2nd20 always appreciates memorializing shows for wonderful performing arts companies, whether professional like Ballet San Jose, seniors singing at the Santa Cruz Follies or the wide range of local dance clients taped for their shows and recitals.
One of my new favorite clients last year was Liberty Dance Company, when besides performing a great full dance production of Peter Pan, I saw them award a “Discover Your Freedom to Dance” Scholarship which allowed the recipient to attend as many dance classes as they wanted for free the next year. Last year’s recipient attended approximately 1200 hours of free dance class to take advantage of the award. This year, Liberty awarded two scholarships at their big Summer Show.
More impressive than Liberty’s community spirit was to see parents from dance students give LDC a surprise award at the end of this year’s show. The following clip gives a quick glimpse of the community spirit of Liberty giving a last fun award to parent helper Miss Brittney, then being surprised with the award given back to Liberty by parents.
Congratulations Miss Mary, Miss Jessica, Miss Maegan and Mr Jesse.
As the award says:
The Mediocre Dance Teacher Tells,
The Good Dance Teacher Explains,
The Superior Dance Teacher Demonstrates,
The Great Dance Teacher Inspires.
With Great Appreciation,
Thank You.
Miss Jessica, Miss Maegan and Miss Mary
