🔨✨ Progress update on my Ancient Egyptian offering table reconstruction!

This piece is now about halfway carved, with much of the shaping being done using a Dremel rotary tool. The rough form is beginning to emerge as I carefully carve the recessed surfaces and contours that will eventually transform this block of wood into a functional reproduction of an ancient Egyptian offering table.

Projects like this are part of the hands-on experimental archaeology and craftsmanship work of **Ta'wy Reconstructing Ancient Egyptian Culture**, helping us better understand the tools, techniques, and labor involved in creating sacred objects in ancient Egypt.

The offering table begins to emerge under the Dremel’s hum — each carved line shaped with intention, patience, and remembrance.
This small coffee table is becoming a sacred space for offerings and reflection, a place where the ancestors are honored through craft.
Every pass of the tool is a quiet prayer.

✨ The Temple Ritual Dress of a New Kingdom Pharaoh ✨

Few images capture the majesty of Ancient Egypt like the sacred ritual attire worn by a pharaoh during temple ceremonies. More than royal clothing, each garment, ornament, and symbol reflected the king's divine role as the earthly representative of the gods.

In the New Kingdom (c. 1550-1070 BCE), pharaohs entered temple sanctuaries dressed in fine linen, adorned with sacred jewelry, powerful amulets, and ceremonial regalia that connected them to deities such as Amun, Ra, and Horus. Every element of the ritual dress carried symbolic meaning, helping maintain Ma'at, the divine order that sustained Egypt and the cosmos.

This reconstruction brings us closer to understanding how these ancient ceremonies may have appeared thousands of years ago within the great temples of Karnak, Luxor, and Abydos.
