Calling for Fixit Coach volunteers for our upcoming Santa Clarita Fixit Clinic!

Join LA County Public Works in community partnership with the City of Santa Clarita in creating a hands-on learning experience at our upcoming Fix It Clinic! As a FixIt coach, you’ll provide guidance as participants disassemble their broken items and assist in troubleshooting to find a repair. No need to be an expert, just a passion for fixing things and sharing knowledge.

Some people come into our lives for a short while, some to teach us lessons, and some to stay forever. Ten years ago, I joined a weekly creative writing class at the Senior Center. Our teacher, Teri Crane, was a plain, down-to-earth, kind, and intelligent woman. She taught us to use adjectives skillfully and engage all five senses so readers could see, hear, taste, touch, and feel our stories.
