People Helping People: On Saturday, January 18 Pilgrim Lutheran Church in Santa Monica held a huge clothing donation event. They also had six Lutheran Christian Church comfort dogs. Each dog has its own scripture assigned to it. They had a taco truck catered luncheon, and one organization brought in dog food and other essential items for dogs.

Grief counseling was also offered. The clothing donation request was so overwhelming they actually had to turn away donations, as did many other agencies. They had a huge volunteer group and volunteers from the YMCA were sent to Pilgrim due to their overwhelming group of volunteers. The event was very well organized.

Each person who came into the gym was assigned a “shopper” to help them find clothing and other items they needed. They also gave away gift cards.

They want to once again, welcome Palisades Lutheran members to their worship service. They continue to pray for their affected members, their families and all who have lost their homes. There is historic damage in Pacific Palisades and other communities. Please keep these seriously affected people, animals and first responders, in your prayers. Thank you.

The Santa Monica Corps of the Salvation Army visited the Santa Monica-Pacific Palisades Lions Club (SM-PP) last month.
