Press’n Seal was doing its job…then my camera joined the project 😂🤦🏻‍♀️

One tiny letter shifted, but a quick fix saved Dad’s money-pocket card 💵✂️

Would you have fixed it or started over? 😅

No screen or mesh needed for this one! 👀

A couple of you asked for the full tutorial after I shared the Press’n Seal transfer, so here’s the complete process—from sizing and cutting the vinyl stencil to painting the tote and adding the iron-on detail.

The biggest tips: seal every stencil edge, pounce the paint straight down in thin layers, and remove the stencil while the paint is still wet. Always follow your specific fabric paint manufacturer’s directions for drying, curing, heat-setting and washing.

Would you try this on a tote first—or go straight to a shirt?

My dad *might* be a little miffed that I’m posting these birthday pictures publicly… 🫣😂 But it’s his birthday, and I couldn’t let Flashback Friday pass without sharing what I made for his 60th last year! 💙

The banner, cake topper, centerpiece, and all those little blue and gold details came together for one of my favorite celebrations. The best part was seeing him at the table with everything around him.

Happy birthday, Dad! I love you—even if you tell me to take this down. 😂💙

Help me wish him a happy birthday! 🎉

My Parchment-Paper Trick for Easier Vinyl Alignment

Parchment paper gives me time to position the entire decal before the adhesive can grab—especially helpful when I’m trying to line it up with an offset.

This little piece belongs on a much bigger project. 🌹

Save this for your next layered-vinyl project.

Don’t Throw Away Those HTV Carrier Sheets!

Remember the oversized varsity hoodie? I saved the extra solid glitter letters—and the original carrier sheets—and turned them into a completely different project. ✨

Those used carrier sheets helped me reposition the letters, keep them from shifting and protect the glitter while I pressed the design in sections.

One cut, two projects…and a good reminder not to toss those carrier sheets too quickly! Do you save yours?

Seven separate letters crossing the back and both sleeves—and once pressing started, there was no room for one of them to shift. 😅

I secured every carrier with heat-resistant tape, pressed the design in sections and stopped halfway through to check the spacing and baseline again before continuing.

You’ll also see a quick change in my layering plan: the glitter required higher heat, so I removed the solid gray layer and tacked the glitter outline first according to the material instructions.

And yes—I fixed those missing centers after filming. 😂 Learn from me and check every A, O and other tiny center before you start pressing!

That wraps up the series:
1️⃣ Sizing the letters
2️⃣ Keeping everything aligned
3️⃣ Pressing without shifting

Seven separate letters crossing the back and both sleeves—eyeballing it wasn’t an option. 😂

I used flexible measuring tape to keep the gaps consistent, then placed two long rulers end to end to create one continuous baseline. Nothing got pressed until every letter passed both checks. 🙌

Sizing was step one. Alignment was step two. Next: how I kept everything from shifting when it was time to press.

Which part would make you more nervous—sizing or keeping it straight?

09/13/2026

How big did I make the letters? About 7 inches tall—but that number isn’t the whole answer. 👀

The hoodie size, font and number of letters all change the fit. Before cutting several feet of HTV, I test the entire design in cardstock and resize it directly on the garment.

It took more than one attempt—and that’s exactly why I test. Cardstock or copy paper (works too) is much cheaper than wasted HTV. 🙌

Save this for your next oversized design and share it with your Cricut friend!
