Rod Miller: Strength and Conditioning Specialist and Community Leader.
Rodrick Miller, the founder of Sarasota’s AMP Athletics Institute, is a visionary in the world of sports performance training with over two decades of experience. His expertise spans numerous sports, having shaped elite athletes in football, baseball, basketball, tennis, golf, lacrosse, track & field, ice skating, and motocross. Known for his personalized approach and diverse background, Rodrick is highly sought after by athletes of all ages, from youth to collegiate and professional levels.
In addition to his work with AMP Athletics, Rodrick founded AMP United, a non-profit organization dedicated to mentoring student-athletes through sports. His AAU track & field team has produced over 25 nationally ranked athletes, while his boys’ 7v7 football team has played a pivotal role in elevating Sarasota’s football talent. Rodrick’s commitment to excellence extends beyond athletics, as he seamlessly merges athleticism and style in the high-end fashion world.
A Sarasota native, Rodrick’s career began in Tallahassee, Florida, while attending Florida A&M University (FAMU). As a Division I football athlete, he discovered his passion for sports performance training under the mentorship of Dave Plettl, founder of Titus Sports Academy and head strength coach for Florida State University’s women’s basketball team. Recognizing the need for elite-level training in his hometown, Rodrick returned to Sarasota and established the first official strength and conditioning program at Out of Door Academy, where he dedicated 14 years to developing standout athletes.
Rodrick’s impressive roster of athletes includes but is not limited to elite athletes from Notre Dame Mens Lacrosse, Notre Dame Women's Tennis, Clemson Women's Lacrosse, the NY Mets, Florida State University Men's Swimming, Michigan State University Football, Eastern Michigan University Track & Field, Long Island University Football, Samford Football, University of South Florida Women's Soccer, Boston College Cheerleading, University of Florida Women's Lacrosse, the Houston Texas, San Francisco 49ers, Louisiana State University Women's Basketball, almost forgot Yale women’s Basketball 🏀 & Volleyball 🏐 🔥
