I was so proud to come back to the Anywhere Women’s ERG this week. I spent 12+ years at Anywhere Real Estate and even served as co-chair of this group before leaving to start my own business, so being invited back to speak was such an honor.

I talked about how to own your career growth in times of transition and how to move through change with clarity and confidence. A few of the tips I shared:
• Protect your career assets and keep your work samples and achievements organized
• Get clear on what makes you unique and the value you bring
• Use impact language to describe your wins
• Keep learning, stay visible and stay connected

Instagram just quietly shook things up… again. The limit on hashtags just dropped from 30 to 3. And honestly, it makes total sense.

For more than a year, Instagram has been shifting away from hashtag-based discovery and putting far more weight on search terms – the actual words you say in your captions, on your graphics and even in your reels. Many creators have already seen their hashtag strategy plateau, while SEO-style captions kept growing.

So, what does this change really mean?

1. Focus on keywords, not hashtag blocks – Write captions that clearly describe your content. Think about what someone would type in the search bar if they needed what you offer.

2. Use natural language – Instagram SEO works best when you speak like a human. “Naples waterfront homes” or “tips for downsizing before a move” works better than .

3. Put your most important terms in the first line – That opening sentence carries more weight than most people realize.

4. And yes, you can still use hashtags, just be intentional – Three highly relevant hashtags will do more for you than 30 generic ones ever did.

If you’ve been feeling like the old Instagram playbook has been losing steam, you’re not wrong. This update is another reminder: Good content + smart SEO = the new growth formula.

New vs. Old Algorithm ☺️

💭 Before, it was all about likes, pretty photos and having that perfect aesthetic grid.

Now... it’s about real moments, connection and how much people actually interact with your content.

The new algorithm watches how long people stay on your videos, how often they share and whether your content sparks conversation.
