[06/24] 146am WED•Strong Tstorms morning SE-

A strong thunderstorm will impact Morrison county over the next half hour as a line of thunderstorms advances southeast at 30mph. Wind gusts of 40mph and pea size hail will be possible. The strongest part of this storm is northeast of Long Prairie.....mainly rural areas of Morrison county will be impacted.

⚠️Expect these storms to continue to push east southeast through morning with some occasionally intensifying to near severe limits then collapsing. Hail up to 0.75" in diameter appears reasonable given the updraft strength. Heavy rainfall is accompanying these storms with 0.50" to 1" of additional rainfall possible.

🌧⛈️🌧⛈️🌧⛈️🌧
Well, the thunderstorms continue to develop along a frontal boundary across the area. These thunderstorms are drifting east southeast and could impact areas along/north of I-94 through early Wednesday morning....any further south, uncertainty increases. Honestly, I didn't think these storms would survive this far south. So don't hold your breath that this storms will make it much further south.

Short term impacts will be heavy rain, cloud to ground lightning and small hail. These storms are not expected to become severe... But there could be a random cell that intensifies to severe limits briefly. Overall, the severe threat is low.

A severe thunderstorm warning has been issued for Renville and Sibley counties until 845pm. Radar indicated threat- 1.25" in diameter hail and 60mph winds possible. Movement is to the east southeast at 30mph.

Additional cells are developing behind the warned area. With these slower moving thunderstorms moving over the same areas, flash flooding could become a possibility.

[06/23] 640pm TUES•Current MRMS radar loop-

Thunderstorms are beginning to clear out of the central Minnesota area as they move to the southeast this evening. We will likely see much or most of our area remain clear tonight. There is a small chance that we could see an isolated thunderstorm or two make their way into central Minnesota later tonight BUT most of us will not see any additional development.

If we do see an isolated cell make it into our area tonight, there's a small chance that it could be strong with hail and gusty winds.

Overall, the severe threat is much lower or has ended north of the line of thunderstorms that are now over southern Minnesota.
