A Little More Hope for Harper 💜

We had a wonderful intake exam today at Total Pediatric Therapy, and I was absolutely blown away by how accommodating, compassionate, and professional every single person was. They had taken the time to do their research beforehand so they could understand Harper’s situation and figure out how they could help her in the best way possible. That meant more to this mama than they probably realize. 🥹💜

Harper was coloring and singing me a song while waiting on them to come in and get started with her, I had to capture it on video. I wanted to share this with everyone. She can spell red! Look out kindergarten…..we will update on that tomorrow. Today is for therapy!

Several of you may not know that Harper has paralysis on the left side of her face because her tumor is pressing on her facial nerve. We may never regain complete use of that side of her face, but as her mom, I’m going to try anything I feel could help her now and potentially make things better for her in the future. Thankful to have the experts helping with this and making me not question if I’m doing things correctly.

I’m so incredibly proud of this little girl. She continues to walk into new situations, try new things, and tolerate all of her mama’s shenanigans with that same brave little spirit she’s had through this entire journey. 🥰 One step, one appointment, one therapy session at a time. We’ll keep fighting for every bit of progress we can get. 💜🎀

Chemo number 8 has presented us with a few issues… because apparently we weren’t already having enough fun. 🙃

Nothing we can’t weather together, though. ❤️

Harper’s hemoglobin is down to a 7, so we’re currently sitting through a blood transfusion. Just another bump in the road for our little Hurricane. Her ANC is at 40, which means complete isolation for now.

While we wait, this girl is doing what she does best—turning a hard day into something beautiful. 🎨❤️ She painted the most beautiful canvas. It’s amazing how she can find a little sunshine right in the middle of such a storm. ☀️ Fairly certain this is her version of a beach in Puerto Rico 🇵🇷!

We’re praying she tolerates the transfusion well and that we get to pack up and come back home. This road is far from easy, but she has never been one to take the easy path. 💪🏼 She continues to amaze us with her strength, her smiles, and that BIG Hurricane attitude.

Send every prayer, good thought, and ounce of positive energy you’ve got our way. We’ll weather this storm together. 🙏🏼 🌀

CHEMO #8… because apparently we didn’t learn our lesson the first seven times. 😂🎀

So here we are again… back to Lexington for another round of “How many pokes, beeps, and medications can one tiny human tolerate?”

Harper is walking in with her usual combination of sass, smiles, and absolutely zero interest in cooperating with the early morning schedule. 😂 She’s officially an 8-time chemo veteran, which is about 7 more times than anyone should ever have to be. But this girl? She continues to show us what Hurricane Harper is made of. 🌀 💪🏼 She may be small, but she has enough attitude to fill an entire oncology floor……….and then some.

So buckle up, chemo #8. You’ve been warned. Harper has entered the building. 😎

Keep those prayers coming for good labs, an easy treatment, minimal side effects, and for this nasty rhabdomyosarcoma to GET THE MESSAGE and GET OUT. 💗 Also if you could whisper a prayer for our friend Amanda Brown and her family as they have reached Liam’s one year Angelversary! He’s in heaven looking down on his family and smiling at all the good they are doing and the strength they continue to show. His time here on earth may be over, but he’s still serving a purpose and will never be forgotten. We stand with Liam, Harper, and all kids fighting this horrible battle. We are stronger in numbers!

Thank you to EVERYONE who came out tonight to support our Hurricane Harper at Texas Roadhouse! ❤️💜

She had the absolute BEST police department there showing her some love, and we are fSomerset Police Departmentof our friends at the Somerset Police Department! 👮‍♀️💙 You guys always show up for our girl, and we are so thankful! It means more to our family than you can imagine. This is what a real department looks like- others should take note!

A very special thank you to BJ, Amanda Brown, and her precious family through Ice Cream for Liam. 🍦💙 If you aren’t familiar with Liam’s story, he was a young boy who lost his battle with cancer a year ago this Monday. He fought a long journey being strong for two years with every ounce of energy he had. His family has taken his memory and turned it into something incredibly beautiful by helping other families across Kentucky who are walking through similar battles. They are truly some of the most amazing people, and we are forever thankful that our paths crossed. Wish it was under different circumstances but god holds the bigger plan and this is all in his timing. 💙 Please find their page, give them a follow, and help them continue to keep Liam’s memory alive while supporting families who need it most. 🍦💙

Tonight was another reminder that we are surrounded by SO much love, kindness, and support. Harper is one very loved little girl! 💜 🌀 Thank you to everyone who shared a smile with her, showed our family kindness, dined in or carried out, and especially to those who took time to visit the ice cream truck. Your kindness has been felt. Love to all!

Chemo number 7… in route to you. Dang, it’s early! 😴

Yesterday was a Harper-filled day, and I couldn’t have asked for anything better. 💜 We watched the new Paw Patrol Dino Movie, and this girl absolutely demolished the popcorn! 🍿😂 Then we headed to Gold Star for a bite to eat before coming home to drive the Jeep………And yes… I let her take the wheel! 😳😂 It was a little scary at times, but somehow I survived! 🤣 She had a blast, and that’s what matters.

Today, though, we’re headed back for Chemo #7. This is the aggressive chemo—the three-at-once kind. Please pray especially hard that her kidneys continue to tolerate the treatment, that they don’t shut down, and that she has no blood in her urine. 🙏🏻

This girl is such an inspiration to all of us. Somehow, she continues to smile through the chaos and be the brightest light in every room. I hope she’s able to get some much-needed rest today and continue to be the light that she always is. ✨

Keep our Hurricane in your prayers today. 💜 Pray for strong kidneys, good numbers, no complications, and that her little body handles this round like the fighter she is.

Kindness Is Everywhere ❤️ 🌀

We had the BEST dinner last night at LongHorn here in Somerset! Our waitress, Cierra, was absolutely amazing and treated Harper like royalty. 🥹❤️ She got new toys to play with followed by a special dessert! She was one happy girl!

The best part of the entire evening was the beautiful card they presented us with, showing their love and support for Harper and her journey. It was such a thoughtful gesture, and honestly, it meant more than they probably realize. ❤️ I may have had to use my sunglasses indoors for a few minutes……

Kindness truly is everywhere we turn. We are so incredibly thankful to live in a community that continues to show up, love on our family, and remind Harper just how many people are cheering her on.

Thank you, LongHorn and Cierra for making our night so special and for showing our girl so much love. 🩷🌈🎗️
