Rock Me Arizona Events

Interestingly enough, I never planned on getting into the events business, funny how that happens, but creating my company, Rock Me Arizona, probably saved my life or at least my sanity. See, I actually started the company when I was going through a divorce and separation, and at that time in my life I was an honest wreck. With limited options, I decided to channel all my anxiety and sleepless nights into something positive. I knew I wanted to do something that I truly enjoyed, and I also knew, from being married to a singer in a band, that I loved the energy from the events and entertainment scene. A few months of planning later, Voila! Rock Me Arizona was born. Over my collective years working I’ve been a professional equestrian, riding and training horses for celebrities in Hollywood, worked in broadcasting as a radio co-host, as well as on a nationally syndicated radio show out of Dallas, enjoyed several years running a successful finance team in Phoenix and of course more recently, been the proud owner of my events company Rock Me Arizona. In the short three years Rock Me Arizona has been in business we’ve branched out from booking entertainment to producing full scale events including runway shows, charity galas, culinary events, concerts, networking expos, themed parties and more. Our clients range from private parties to multimillion dollar corporations, and everyday I feel blessed by knowing this is something that I’ve created, and this is a way I get to give back. Each one of our events has a charity component and we donate a % of our proceeds to a local charity from each event we produce. To date, Rock Me Arizona has had the honor of working with the American Cancer Society, ChildHelp, Boys & Girls Clubs of the East Valley, SAARC, Suns Nite Hoops, Love Shack Horse Ranch, Phoenix Children’s Hospital, M.A.D. Girls (Jordin Sparks Foundation), Dress for Success Phoenix & Cox Charities, with more to come. As part of Rock Me Arizona's mission, I created a community service campaign called “Change-4-Kids”. Each year we select a children’s charity as a beneficiary for the annual “Change-4-Kids Challenge”. This is a “hands on” fundraising contest between businesses which raises thousands of much needed dollars for local charities and connects businesses by developing relationships within our community. The single most important thing I’ve learned about being a business owner is that it’s not about one person running a company, it’s about the team. A strong team is the foundation to a great company and I attribute the success of Rock Me Arizona to its amazing team of talented individuals. On a final note, I remember meeting with my friend John Colby a few years back, (bass guitarist and manager in the very successful bands Metal Head and Rock Lobster) and he asked me why I was starting Rock Me Arizona. I said, “Because I think it would be a fun to do.” To which he replied, “Well, it’ll probably be successful then, when you do something because you enjoy it instead of just for money it usually turns out better.” Thanks John, you were right!
