25 Common Words That Didn’t Exist Until the 1990s
Of course, the world gained a few internet words in the 1990s. But we also got surprising words, such as buzzkill, infinity pool, and man cave.

Also am working on another novel. "The Last God" A Science Fiction Dystopic World where vampires rule as gods and humans have one last hope of destroying their power and taking back their world.

Took me several weeks to work out this design from Coppola's Bram Stoker's Dracula. The design comes from Dracula's magnificent Chinese silk robes. Embroidered gold on red.

The travails of a constantly ripped off artist. Two weeks ago a guy who saw a drawing I did in STRANGE Magazine ten or more years ago contacted me to tell me he was doing a book on the infamous "Lost Thunderbird Photo." (No, not the car!) The photo was seen by several thousand people back in 1966 0r 67 in a men's magazine, which featured a rather odd, prehistoric "bird" on display in a Wild West type setting. (See the second photo below.) I drew a picture of the photo as I recalled it. Many people write into the magazine when it was published and said, "Yes! This is what I recall." Others said, "No, that's not it at all!" A controversy developed over whether the photo had actually existed or whether we were all just misremembering something. The author who coined the term Cryptozoology (the study of unknown or hidden animals) Ivan Sanderson, said he HAD the photo in his possession at one time and my version was correct. This set off a whole presentation of articles and photos (some obvious fakes) that described "Thunderbirds," that is over-large predatory birds which have been seen in America's skies for many thousands of years. I did several illustrations. (see the next four drawings...) Including two of a sighting I had had when I was just a kid in Keenyville, Illinois in the Sixties. The last picture was one I did in 1986 before the controversy, on the motif of the Amerind legend of the Thunderbird that would pick up children and carry them away during storms. Somehow this picture which was published one time in a small press magazine, got into the hands of "Paraview Publishing" who published a book by Mark Hall on Thunderbirds in America. My friend who had contacted me about his writing endeavor had picked up a copy of the book and lo and behold, there was MY picture from 1986 on the cover, ascribed to an artist named "Mark Rollins!" The picture was awful, blurry, yellowed and folded in half at one point, before being used as cover art. Believe it or not, this stuff happens to me all the time. People steal my work, reprint it or use it or even make plush toys or other products from my designs and I never see a dime! So it happened again (See picture #1.) I feel that putting things on the internet now is actually a good way to secure your copyrights, as anything you post will have a "timestamp" on it so you can prove when you first showed it to anyone. But back in the old days, pictures or stories could wind up anywhere. Edgar Allen Poe received very little from his writing in America, yet in France, where it was republished without his permission or his even being aware of it, and of course, with no pay, he became a huge sensation! So there you have it. I wrote a letter to Paraview complaining of their copyright infringement. Let's see if they get back to me.

Just published and out now on Amazon Kindle for $2.99! My newest Lovecraftian Thriller, Byatis RIsing! If you liked Shadow over Innsmouth by H.P, Lovecraft you'll LOVE this one! Check it out in preview, buy a copy, send in a review! It's a modern, adult thriller (yes it actually has s*x and women in it! Very un-Lovecraft-like I agree, but think of it as an updated novel based in the Lovecraftian World of the Cthulhu Mythos. A modern noir version of Lovecraft's ideas and characters. Read the blurb here shown on the back cover. And tell all your Lovecraft friends!

So, here I sat broken hearted, no one was looking at my web page! Whaaaaa! Then I went to check it out because GoDaddy said Are you published yet? Check your page! Sure as anything my page was nothing more than the welcome page, a huge amount of work I had put into it wasn't even available! All because I had been editing it in the wrong system! So I got my act together and it is up and running and fully navigable. What's really odd is that a friend I have literally not heard from in some 20 years, suddenly appeared, using my page's brand new email "contact Us" page! I thought he had died years ago! But no, he is alive and well and has moved to Florida...So sometimes you just need to clear the decks, batten down the hatches and get under weigh again! Avast ye swabs! I'm the Dread Pirate Roberts and I am BACK!
