The imaginative man understands that while the outer world is real, it is the inner world of continuous imagination that serves as the true force.

Every creative person must become conscious of their inner activity and recognize the relationship between the inner causal world of imagination and the outer world of effects.

Cause becomes effects.
Emotional states become realities.
Thoughts become things.

The imaginative man does not wait for permission from the world before creating. He understands that every structure, film, movement, business, invention, and civilization first existed as an invisible image held within the mind of someone willing to believe in what could not yet be seen.

Most people live only by reaction to appearances.
The creative lives by inner vision first.

To master imagination is to stop being ruled entirely by circumstance and begin participating in reality as a conscious creator instead of a passive observer.

The unseen always precedes the seen.

If you’re working with professional athletes on a shoot, project or campaign, you should definitely keep this in mind before you get to the set!

1. Time is their most important currency. They have agents, their coaches, trainers, etc. watching them like a hawk. You need to know what you need from them, respect their time, stay organized and streamline everything so you can mitigate any hiccups on shoot day.

2. Coach them! These guys are used to being told what to do. However for me, I don’t give basic instructions like “pose like this, just stand like that.” I try to put them in situations where they emotionally can tap into a moment where they feel like they’re competing. Or I plan the shoot where they’re in situations that they’d experience on game day. Learn their lingo, and lead them!

3. PROTECT THEM FROM STUPID SH*T. These teams invest a lot into them and they need to stay safe. Don’t ask a professional baseball player to slide into home base for a photo shoot. That is stupid. Make sure you keep in mind that they do things that they are comfortable with.

I’ve been working with professionally show the past couple years for some major campaigns with Brands. I promise you that if you keep some of these tips in mind, you’ll be requested back for more projects!

Most creative people don’t have a talent problem. They have a thought problem.

Your subconscious doesn’t debate you. It just executes whatever you’ve accepted as true.

Neuroscientists have found that the beliefs you hold about yourself, especially around your own worth and competence, don’t just sit quietly in the background.

So if you’ve been telling yourself your creativity isn’t valuable, isn’t marketable, isn’t serious, your mind has already been building a life that confirms it.

They actively shape what you attempt, what you avoid, and how you interpret everything in between.

The question isn’t whether you’re creative enough. It’s what you actually believe about the creativity you already have.

Watch your mind, creator 👁️

3 surprising ways fatherhood has helped me become a better creative

1. I don’t take things seriously anymore.
My baby girl doesn’t care about my deals, accomplishments, or social media metrics. She wants to play, explore, and experience things. That snapped me out of the hustle mode I’d been stuck in for years. Now I have genuine faith that things will work out…and I’ve learned to surrender control.

2. I create like I’m playing.
Watching the way children experience the world is one of the most fascinating things I’ve ever witnessed. Pure curiosity. No agenda. Creative work doesn’t have to be a task….it can simply be me exploring my mind and the world around me.

3. I create from peace, not from scarcity or necessity.
I constantly work on my nervous system regulation, and fatherhood forced me to get serious about it. You can’t be present for a child while running on anxiety and urgency. That same stillness I had to find as a father is now the place I create from. The best work I’ve ever made didn’t come from pressure….it came from a full cup.

Is there anyone in your life — a child, mother, brother, friend or even foe, who has helped you step into who you needed to become?

Most creatives don’t suffer from a lack of ideas.

They suffer from fear.

Fear of being judged.
Fear of being misunderstood.
Fear of being seen before the work is “ready.”

So they hide their perspective.

But your perspective is the only thing no one else can copy.

Don’t leave this world without showing anyone how you saw it.

The world has enough spectators.

Make your art. We need it.

We were not interested in making a traditional tech commercial focused only on features or specs. We wanted to explore the human side of communication. The tension before understanding. The pause between translation. The relief of finally being heard.

So we approached the campaign cinematically and almost like a documentary.

Real environments.
Natural interactions.
Human reactions.
Moments that felt lived in instead of performed.

Because the truth is:
the most powerful technology does not feel like technology at all.

It disappears into the experience and leaves only the connection behind.

Proud of everyone involved in bringing this project to life. This was a true collaborative effort from start to finish.

Interstellar wasn’t a sci fi film, it was a love story.

I actually fully grasp the gravity of that film now as a parent and husband.

Easily the best movie going experiences of my life.
