the light that certain street lights gives off at night is so beautiful, especially when it comes through your bedroom at night π―οΈit's got to be the one of the many things I miss from living in a city. I even miss hearing the overly loud drunk conversations from people passing by walking home from the pub, sometimes if I were lucky they'd stroll really slowly by even stopping and it's really interesting how much of a character you can build just by listening to somebodies voice. I'd always pause whatever I was watching at the time to sneakily listen in. I overheard a couple in an intense argument once, unsure exactly what it was about but all I remember is that the man was was very apologetic...(mm!), then a big group of friends all singing 'Roxanne' (I almost wished I could jump out the window and join in with them), and once I even saw two people having a running contest across from the top of the street to the bottom (they actually ran surprisingly fast!). On the lucky occasions that I did manage to grab a look at the strangers having their conversations I was never really able to really see how they looked, either they'd walk past my window too quickly, and the fact my bedroom was the second floor quite high up so I'd only really catch the top of their heads, and you know how very orange street lights can sometimes distort light? it would make everything appear sepia and all the colours would fade out- which is my favourite part but it makes seeing details a little bit more difficult as nothing is as distinguishable anymore. So I think at some point I gave up jolting up out of bed to my window and just paused to listen and imagine what I thought they might look like, I wonder how close my imagination got? π guess I'll never know!π
