Staff Sergeant Richard Allison Dornellas arrived in Vietnam in January 1969 as a Cavalry Scout with the 3rd Squadron, 4th Cavalry. He became the soldier others followed earning a Bronze Star for Valor and another for Merit for his fearless work at the front of every mission.

On January 27, 1970, in the d-eadly Boi Loi Woods, Dornellas was k-illed by hostile fire while leading from the point. He was just 22.

A Florida son.
A 4th Cav warrior.
A scout who lived.....and-ied......doing the job that demanded everything.
