As my grandmother used to say: "Basta la salud! Lo demas se arregla". ("Good health is all we need. The rest can be taken care of.")
WHEN IT IS TIME TO VOTE, I THINK HEALTH AND SAFETY SHOULD BE NUMBER ONE!
There are four directly related items to "salud": Health care, Gun Control, Climate Change and Artificial Intelligence. These four worries me the most!
1. Gun Safety: The Biden-Harris administration closed the gun-show loophole which had allowed people to buy guns without a license. Trump promised the National rifle Association that he would get rid of all those gun measures, even after his attempted assassination!
2. Environment and climate: During Trump’s time in office, more than 100 U.S. environmental policies and rules which protect the public health (clean air and water, among others) were abandoned. Trump has said climate change is a hoax and he pulled the U.S. out of the Paris Agreement, The B-Harris Adm. restored US. Membership.
3.Health care: The Biden-Harris administration shored up the popular Affordable Care Act giving more people access to heath insurance. Trump unsuccessfully tried to kill Obama Care.
In 2020 Trump spread misinformation about treatment for Covid proposing injecting bleach to cure COVID. More than a million people died of the disease, and some of these were preventable.
Also, Trump appointed conservative Supreme Court justices who overturned Roe v. Wade, and he is proud of it. During the September debate, ha said some states support abortion into the ninth month calling it “execution after birth”. No states allow this, so it is a fabricated lie.
4. Artificial Intelligence. Harris would continue the 2023 executive order on safe, secure and trustworthy development and use of AI. Under Trump, following the Project 2025 framework, the technology safeguards on AI would be overturned.
All the information above comes from “Scientific American” latest edition, (p. 56) and my own research and memory. And, by the way, if you like ChatGPT, ask the question about Trump’s blaming immigrants for the increase on crime. While crime actually declined the last few years, ChatGPT says: "Trump’s narratives around immigrant crime is misleading and his rhetoric might contribute to unnecessary fear and confusion in communities."
So..., take your pick!
