Had the best time at 🧠✨ This year we presented our journal’s work in the poster gallery, connected with neuroscientists, trainees, and professionals from all over, and attended workshops to bring new ideas back to our programming and outreach. Huge thank you to for hosting such an inspiring conference and giving us the space to share student-driven neuroscience communication. 💜

Have you heard about TDP-43 and tau proteins?

We are very excited to have Research Assistant Professor Rebecca Kow from the Kow Lab at VA hospital. This presentation will introduce C.elegans models of tau and TDP-43 toxicity to help better understand neurodegenerative diseases.

This opportunity can be valuable for students interested in going to graduate school, medical school, and other higher education, in addition to students interested in getting involved in research. No prior neuroscience experience is needed to attend, everyone is welcome to join!

Have you heard about Connectome?
We are very excited to have PhD candidate Sarah Pugliese from the Brunton & Tuthill Lab.
This presentation will look into the structure and function of motor circuits in the fruit fly ventral nerve cord. She will talk about the connectome datasets she works with, motor control in flies and other animals, and how she used these network models to find a putative pattern-generating circuit for forward walking.

This opportunity can be valuable for students interested in going to graduate school, medical school, and other higher education, in addition to students interested in getting involved in research.

No prior neuroscience experience is needed to attend, everyone is welcome to join!

Have you ever wondered about motor learning?
We are very excited to invite a PhD candidate Katherine Perks from the Orsborn Lab, who was also an instructor for NEUSCI 450: Current Research Literature in Neuroscience, to give us a talk on this topic!

In this Journal Club meeting, we’ll explore how the brain learns flexible, effective motor control through hrough changes in both feedforward and feedback control. By attending, you’ll explore and gain insights into two research projects, PhD researcher daily life, and information about research labs! This opportunity can be valuable for students interested in going to graduate school, medical school, and other higher education, in addition to students interested in getting involved in research.

The meeting will take place on Thursday, October 9th, at the Health Sciences Education Building (HSEB) 101 from 5:30 PM to 6:30 PM.

No prior neuroscience experience is needed to attend, everyone is welcome to join!
