Apples were pressed into cider each fall, naturally fermenting and becoming steadily higher in alcohol content through the winter. Through his company, Currie seeks to reclaim this tradition. One of the perks of judging for the CIDERCRAFT Magazine awards is the ciders I get to take home after! I didn’t try this while judging (don’t worry it’s a blond judging) but the label caught my eye so I snagged it and I’m sure glad I did! Do you have any favorite labels? • • • Imperial Gold is a spiced stone fruit cider from Blake's Hard Cider Co. . It’s made with dessert apples, peaches, apricots, and mulled spices. At 9.5% ABV this is dangerously good. It pours a pale yellow with a spiced nose. Medium bodied with a nice peachiness and notes of apricot, this is sweet but balanced with by all the spices.
