A 38-year-old man from Washington has been charged after allegedly throwing a coconut-sized rock at an endangered Hawaiian monk seal on a Hawaii beach.

According to prosecutors, he pleaded not guilty and claimed he mistook the seal for an aggressive sea lion. A witness reportedly confronted him after the incident, and authorities say he responded that he "did not care" and was "rich enough to pay any fines."

A federal judge has barred him from Hawaii's beaches and from approaching marine wildlife while the case moves forward.

With only about 1,600 Hawaiian monk seals left in the wild, the species remains one of the most endangered marine mammals on Earth.

For centuries, atmospheric scientists could not agree on how a storm cloud actually built the massive electrical charge required to throw it.
The answer was frozen in front of them the entire time.
Researchers just proved that bending ice generates electricity. It is a simple piezoelectric effect. Inside a thunderstorm, billions of ice crystals are trapped in violent updrafts.
They collide. They fracture. Most importantly, they bend. Every time a growing ice particle warps under pressure, it generates a tiny electric charge. Multiply that by billions.
That is what builds the lightning strike. It is not atmospheric friction. It is crushed ice.

Dreaming of becoming a flight attendant?

Delta Air Lines has officially opened applications for its 2027 flight attendant hiring classes.

The airline is recruiting both English-speaking and bilingual crew members and says successful applicants will complete six weeks of paid training at Delta’s headquarters in Atlanta before joining the airline’s global network.

To apply, candidates must be at least 21 years old, hold a high school diploma or GED, be legally authorized to work in the United States, and have a valid passport.

The new hires will work across Delta’s domestic and international network, serving more than 300 destinations worldwide.

Delta has already warned applicants that response times may be slower than normal because of the large number of applications expected.

For many aspiring cabin crew, this is one of the biggest airline hiring opportunities of the year.

Most people have heard of the Bermuda Triangle. Fewer realize the United States has its own version, and it's on land.

The Alaska Triangle is a wide stretch of wilderness running between Anchorage, Juneau, and Utqiagvik. Since at least the 1970s, thousands of travelers, hunters, and even small aircraft have vanished inside its boundaries with no clear explanation. Officially, the harsh terrain takes the blame. Researchers studying the area point to something stranger.

The region is also one of the highest UFO reporting zones in North America. Witnesses describe glowing lights, missing time, and unexplained aerial objects. Indigenous traditions of the area speak of spiritual gateways and portals scattered throughout the same wilderness. A compass can be thrown off by up to 30 degrees in places due to magnetic declination.

A wilderness this big could lose people on its own. But thousands of them, plus lights in the sky, plus old stories of portals, all in one area? Something has been happening in the Alaska Triangle for a long time.

At Lehe Ledu Wildlife Zoo in Chongqing, China, the animals aren't the ones behind bars... the visitors are. 🐅😳

Instead of viewing animals from outside enclosures, guests ride through the park in caged trucks while tigers, lions, and bears roam freely around them. To bring the predators even closer, raw meat is attached to the outside of the cages.

The unique attraction became an instant hit when it opened in 2015, reportedly selling out for three straight months.
