Last year's major upgrade - API The Box console + 2 Avid S1 mix surfaces and an Avid Dock. At the same time we added an Aviom Dante Headphone system for personal headphone mixes. The box console has a stereo input right at the mix buss which provides a perfect pairing with our Spectra Sonics console allowing 36 analog returns on mixdown. We are also able to record fully analog to 16 track 2" with no computers involved. Headphone mixes can be digitally distributed to the Avioms or analog through the Box's Cue sends. The Avid S1s are intuitive to use and have flying faders which are a joy during mixdown. The Dock provides many transport and automation shortcuts and tactile control over plugins.

The real upgrade is that it sounds fantastic. Fast, punchy and big. We are thrilled at the clarity in the monitor and mix path.

The custom furniture was built by Jeremy Spicer Woodworking, the upholstry (cool red armrest) by Bill Herzog with consulting from Jim Sangster

Happy holidays from Crackle & Pop! to you and yours. It's been a busy year for us (too busy to post much apparently) but over the next week we'll be sharing about the exciting projects we've worked on and upgrades we've made to the studio. It's a lot! We're eternally grateful to all the artists and producers that make it possible to keep improving and serving the community.
