💛 Sometimes the hardest part isn’t making the plans.

It’s having to cancel them.

Because the fever showed up.
Because an appointment ran long.
Because your child isn’t feeling well.
Because the hospital called.
Because you’re completely exhausted.
Because sometimes your family just needs a quiet day at home.

And while everyone else might see a cancelled plan, you know there was a whole reason behind it.

To the parents who have had to cancel plans at the last minute…
We see you. 💛

✨ What’s a plan you’ve had to cancel that you were really looking forward to? Or something you’ve learned to stop feeling guilty about canceling? Share it with us. ❤️

💛 MILESTONE MONDAY 💛

Not every moment we want to remember is a milestone.

Sometimes it’s a laugh that came out of nowhere.
A cuddle that lasted a little longer.
A silly little habit you never want them to outgrow.
A family moment that felt completely ordinary—but somehow meant everything.

Those are the moments we wish we could bottle up and keep forever. ❤️

✨ What’s a moment with your child you wish you could freeze in time?

Tell us about it in the comments. We’d love to celebrate those little pieces of your journey with you. 💛

Because sometimes the moments that don’t make it into the milestone book are the ones we treasure the most.

Every moment matters. Every journey matters. ❤️

💙 NICU Awareness Day — Myth vs. Fact

MYTH:
“If a baby is in the NICU, they just need to grow a little and then they’ll go home.”

FACT:
For many NICU families, it’s so much more complicated than that.

NICU babies may need help with breathing, feeding, maintaining their temperature, gaining weight, recovering from surgery, fighting infection, or managing other medical conditions. Some babies go home after a few days. Others spend weeks or months in the hospital.

And sometimes, going home isn’t the end of the medical journey—it’s just the beginning of a very different one.

Kyrian spent 157 days in the hospital.
87 of those days were in the NICU, followed by another 70 days on the pulmonary floor.

So when I say NICU families are warriors, I don’t mean it as a cute phrase.

I mean the parents who slept beside incubators.
The parents who learned medical terminology they never expected to know.
The parents who celebrated a 5 mL feed, a weight gain, a successful extubation, or getting to hold their baby.
The parents who learned to leave the hospital without their baby and somehow come back the next day and do it all over again.

NICU Awareness Day is for the babies who fought.
The families who stayed.
The ones who didn’t make it home.
And the ones who eventually did. 💙

Today, remember: behind every NICU statistic is a baby, a family, and a story.

💛 You know your child in a way no chart, appointment, or medical textbook ever could.

You notice the little things.

A different cough.
A change in appetite.
An extra nap.
A different cry.
A little less energy.
Something that just doesn’t seem quite right.

Sometimes you can’t even explain why you know. You just do.

To the parents who have learned to read every little change…
We see you. 💛

✨ What’s something about your child that you can notice before anyone else does? That little thing that makes you think, “Something’s different.” Tell us in the comments. ❤️

💛 MILESTONE MONDAY 💛

There are some things we spend so much time worrying about… wondering if our child will ever reach a certain milestone, master a skill, or get to a place we desperately hope they’ll reach.

And then one day… they do it. ❤️

Maybe it happened sooner than expected. Maybe it took years. Maybe it looked completely different from what you imagined.

But when that moment finally comes, you realize just how much progress was happening all along.

✨ What’s something you once worried your child would never do… but now they do?

Tell us your story in the comments. Your answer might give hope to another family who’s still waiting for their “one day.” 💛

Because sometimes the milestones we worried about the most become the ones we celebrate the hardest.

Every milestone matters. ❤️

Five years sounds like a long time… but when you’re raising a medical kiddo, you learn pretty quickly that life doesn’t always follow the plan. ❤️

So maybe the plan isn’t about having everything figured out.

Maybe it’s about showing up.
Making the memories.
Taking the trips.
Saying yes to the adventures when we can.
Celebrating the milestones—big AND small.
Laughing through the chaos.
Advocating fiercely.
Worrying a little less.
And remembering that our kids deserve a life that is about so much more than their medical charts.

We want more road trips. More new places. More ordinary days that somehow become our favorite memories. More stories to tell.

Because our families are more than diagnoses, appointments, therapies, hospital stays, and medical equipment.

We’re families living life. And we want to make the most of it. 🩵❤️💛

Here’s to the next five years of more adventures, more memories, more laughter, and more LIFE.

Collect stories, not things.
And make the next five years count. ❤️
