A complete (ish) list of Brown family employment
I've spent a few days googling this all so I thought I'd compile a list for myself and any others who are constantly asking themselves "what the hell do they actually do?!"
Utah:
Kody: Advertising, specifically billboard sales
Also owned Das Hundhaus Fi****ms and Accessories, until a bankruptcy/ownership change somewhere between 2004 and 2008- I couldn't find an exact timeline but someone is welcome to clarify.
Meri: Pre-show, she worked engraving at an art studio. When the show started she worked at a mental health organization that helped at-risk youth, specifically teens. I've heard that it was associated with the troubled teen industry but I couldn't find any concrete proof of it- again, feel free to correct me in the comments.
Janelle: Worked in the State of Utah payroll department as well as ran a food storage company called EZ Pantry. Food storage is a major thing for Mormons because they prep for the "end times."
Christine: Stay-at-home mom, although the book says she worked at one point, probably for her dad's car sales business. Also did some assorted pro-polygamy volunteer work.
Robyn: Receptionist/coordinator of some sort at an assisted living facility in St. George before marrying Kody, when she became a stay-at-home mom alongside Christine.
Las Vegas:
Pyramid schemes galore.
Kody: LIV MLM and he was pretty high up. All the wives were in his downline, and this is what he references when he talks about their "family business" a few times during those earlier seasons, pre-MSWC. Also why Meri needed her wet bar- her house, with fewer kids and therefore fewer messes, usually was the home of their sales parties and such.
Kody eventually started selling guns again (or continued? Again, I'm not sure when one gun business started and another ended) and is still spotted at gun shows around the country. He mentions taking some of the boys to them a few times.
Meri: Started selling LuLaRoe and seemed to be pretty high up, enough to make solid money and go on at least a cruise- one is mentioned in the show. Also eventually bought the B+B.
Janelle: Successfully became a realtor, but according to Zillow she didn't do it full time as she didn't have too many sales. She worked for Mona's company, TMI Realty. After her fitness kick and the failed gym idea, she started a health and life coaching business, Strive with Janelle. You can see it on some shirts and aprons throughout the Vegas seasons. She also started selling Plexus, another MLM, which Mykelti, Christine, and I think Maddie now sell.
Christine: Sold some MLMs at some point, definitely did LuLaRoe but not nearly as hardcore as Meri. She spent a lot of time at home with the kids after she realized she didn't want to be a realtor.
Robyn: Started My Sisterwife's Closet which was a massive flop, it definitely didn't make the family money but I don't know if it lost money. They never filed for bankruptcy. Never seemed to sell MLMs and mostly stayed home with the kids... although then What. Does. The. Nanny. Do.
Flagstaff and Beyond
Kody still sells guns.
Meri does some things at the BnB, she has hosted some womens' empowerment/wellness retreats there and merch sales seem to be pretty successful (probably because of the show). Still sells LuLaRoe somehow. Also does Cameo.
Janelle just bought some land with Maddie with the intent of starting a business called Taeda Farms, which will be a flower farm of some sorts. She still sells Plexus and the Strive with Janelle website is still up, and she also has some brand deals, like FabFitFun. Also does Cameo.
Christine stopped doing LuLaRoe (rumor has it Mykelti got all her inventory and customers) but still sells Plexus. She has a pretty major social media presence and does Cameo. She also wrote a book that comes out in early September. David is a successful business owner (windows or maybe contracting of some sort, I think) and they have 2 Airbnbs together that are featured on her Instagram often.
Robyn still seems to be using her kids as an excuse to be unemployed despite them all being school age (I think Ari is 10 now). She doesn't do Cameo and her social media has been inactive since pre-Covid.
The Show
The main income source. The family seems to make between 30 and 40k each episode, but it's unclear how it's split up now after the family has.
All the money pre-divorces went into an LLC titled "Kody Brown Family Entertainment LLC" that was dissolved in 2023. Nobody but the family knows how it was divided after that. The same year, Dabsark Entertainment LLC was formed, co-owned by Robyn and Kody Brown. It presumably is an acronym from Dayton, Aurora, Breanna, Solomon, Ariella, Robyn, and Kody.
