BREAKING: Nearly 1,400 workers were laid off from the former Navistar truck factory in Springfield, Ohio, just days before Donald Trump holds a rally nearby.

The scale is staggering: AP reports the layoffs effectively erased an entire year of job growth across the greater Dayton area.

And there’s a political story unfolding inside the economic one. Kyle Bos, a UAW member who told AP he voted for Trump three times, says he’s done supporting him and plans to canvass for Democrats ahead of November.

The factory is being purchased by Canadian armored-vehicle manufacturer Roshel, which says it plans to rehire workers through a phased process and eventually expand the workforce.

🚨 BREAKING: Congress is coming for Flock cameras.

Bernie Sanders, AOC and Jeff Merkley have introduced the Ban Flock Act, which would bar federal agencies from using automatic license-plate readers or accessing the massive databases they create.

The proposal goes even further: federal grant funding could be withheld from state and local governments that continue using the technology.

This fight is getting bigger, and it’s crossing party lines. Republicans have introduced their own proposals restricting Flock surveillance.

The question at the center of all of this is pretty damn simple: Should the government be able to build a searchable record of where Americans drive without a warrant?

🚨 BREAKING: Amazon will pay $8.25 MILLION to settle a D.C. lawsuit alleging it secretly excluded two majority-Black ZIP codes from its in-house Prime delivery network while continuing to charge residents full Prime prices.

About 69,000 customers are affected. $7.25 million will be refunded directly to Prime members. Amazon denies wrongdoing.

🚨 BREAKING: Christa Pike is now reportedly in critical condition after Tennessee’s failed attempt to execute her.

Her attorneys say Pike remains alive and is receiving life-saving medical care after officials administered two doses of pentobarbital Wednesday night.

Witnesses said she continued breathing and audibly snoring long after the drugs were administered.

Gov. Bill Lee has halted Tennessee’s remaining scheduled ex*****on this year and ordered an outside investigation into what happened.

This story somehow became even more horrifying overnight.
