Our latest sizzle of 'The Wiz' at The 5th Avenue Theatre 😍
The Washington Festivals and Events Association is an organization dedicated to promoting the common business interests of the festivals and events industry in Washington state. Back in 2020, we were the official video partner and one of the sponsors for WFEA. They had scheduled a large in-person conference for March and our team was brought on board to supply AV and technical support. Unfortunately, the pandemic had other plans.
In a very short amount of time, we were able to shift this entirely in-person conference into a completely virtual experience. Although the conference wasn’t what they anticipated, WFEA was very pleased with how their first virtual event turned out. Their virtual conference focused on finding relief and building resilience while navigating the impact of Covid-19 on events. The event was hosted by the wonderful, Beth Knox. Beth has always been a huge supporter of our company. We have worked with her through many clients, including Seafair and the Rotary Club of Seattle.
We were so glad to be able to support them in such a difficult time for festivals and events. We look forward to more opportunities with WFEA in the future!
Thank you to everyone that participated in the raffle! After random selection, we are happy to announce that David Crump is our winner of the 2 Mariners tickets! Congrats David! We will message you about your prize.
This was our favorite raffle prize so far! What prizes would you like to see on future raffles??
Meet our Lead Videographer, Dan Bassett!
Dan entered the Navy right after high school in 1995. He completed boot camp in Great Lakes, Illinois. After that, he began A (Apprenticeship) school at Defense Photography School located on the Pensacola Naval Air Station. After graduating A school and becoming a Photographer’s Mate, Dan was assigned to the USS Carl Vinson Aircraft Carrier, which was stationed near San Francisco. After one year in the Bay Area, the Aircraft Carrier changed home ports to Bremerton, Washington.
In 1999, during his final year in the Navy, Dan started attending the Art Institute of Seattle as a part-time student. In early 2001, before graduating AIS, Dan started an internship with ProVideo, a video production company in Seattle. Dan graduated AIS with an Associates of Applied Arts, majoring in Video Production. After graduation, he worked full-time with this same company for 12 years. During that time, he began video recording depositions. In 2013, ProVideo merged with ProMotion Arts & ProMotion Legal. These companies evolved into ThirdReel and B&A Litigation Services.
Over the last 9 years, Dan has been our Lead Videographer/Photographer for B&A. Today, he records depositions regularly, and also shoots site inspections, day in the life videos, and the occasional drone shoot, as well as creative ThirdReel shoots. Dan received his FAA license for drone operation in 2018, and serves as our Lead Drone Operator. As of 2022, Dan is celebrating 21 years with the company!
In his free time, Dan likes to hike, kayak, take photos, and take care of his home and yard. He also enjoys spending time with his wife, Carrie, and his two adult daughters.
Dan is looking forward to celebrating his 25th wedding anniversary in February of 2023. He is also looking forward to welcoming his first grandchild next Spring! Congrats, Dan!

Meet our President, Michela Hundrup!
Michela is the epitome of hard work pays off! In 2010, she graduated with a business degree from the University of Washington with a focus in Marketing. After graduating, she applied and was brought on for an internship with our company, which was ProMotion Arts at the time. The internship was to create a marketing and sales strategy for a convention app that our CEO, Steve Crandall, was in the process of developing. After a few months as an intern, she was brought on as a part-time marketing associate. That role quickly evolved into a more operations-focused role that expanded into the company’s other divisions.
In 2013, our company acquired a trial consulting firm, and Michela was promoted to general manager to oversee all operations across the organization. Over the years, she has continued to develop into more of a strategic role for our organization. In 2020, Michela was promoted to president!
Since her promotion in 2020, Michela has spent the last couple of years navigating the changing business environment that the global pandemic brought. Through that navigation, she has led us to a new business frontier where we are constantly evolving in this hybrid world. It has been challenging, but it has given our company the opportunity to adapt and work with new clients and services. She spends her day focused on the overall vision of the organization and executing the roadmap to achieve the company’s goals.
In her free time, her two young children and husband are her primary focus. She also enjoys running and is starting to explore ultra-marathon races.
She is looking forward to completing her first 50-mile race this September!
As a company, we are always trying to find ways to ensure our employees have the resources necessary to have a good work-life balance. We believe that family should always come first, which is why we encourage our employees to take fully paid time off when they have a new baby.
The State of Washington has a program called Paid Family and Medical Leave where employees in the state can take 12-18 weeks off of work for various reasons, like if they have a baby, have a spouse who will be deployed, or if they need to take care of a family member who is sick. This program pays a portion of the employee’s salary while they are gone. Our company will then cover the additional portion of the employee’s salary. That way, while on leave, the employee will received their full paychecks as they would normally.
This is very important because the last thing you want to think about is money when you have a new baby, or when a family member is sick. Once back at work, we encourage our working parents to set schedules that work best for their families.
Seafair is back!!!
Over the weekend, the annual Seafair Festival made it’s in-person return to Seattle! Since about 1950, Seafair has been THE summer festival here in Seattle. Seafair has been a client of ours for over ten years. Our CEO, Steve Crandall, even served as the Board Chair. Through many video projects, partnerships, and sponsorships we have been able to maintain a reliable professional relationship.
Even during the pandemic, when Seafair had to put a halt to it’s in-person events, we were able to assist Seafair in the new virtual world. Through our video magic, we were able to bring the live production feel to the virtual event of the annual, Queen Alycone Bash.
Over the years, we have created video edits, assisted in the Torchlight Parade, and many other notable Seafair events. We are proud of the partnership we have created with Seafair and look forward to more events with them in the future!

Over the weekend, we shot the Rhythm & Brews Festival for the Federal Way Symphony 🎶 This is an annual event that has been on a two year hiatus since the pandemic. Proceeds of this event support live music and music education in the community!
Meet our Vice President!
Sarah Fitzgibbon is often described as hardworking, driven, and committed. Her attention to detail is unparalleled. After graduating from Eastern Washington University in 2010 with a degree in Business Marketing, Sarah worked at a local law firm in Spokane. After one year at the law firm, Sarah decided to attend the College of Court Reporting to pursue a career in stenography. In 2012, she moved back to Seattle and began working at our company as a Scheduling Coordinator, while remotely attending CCR. Once she obtained her court reporter license, she stayed on with our company as a W2 court reporter and divisional lead. After working her way through the company, she was promoted to Vice President in 2020.
Today, Sarah takes depositions almost daily while managing the team at B&A and focuses on client relations. She takes on and mentors new reporters fresh in the field and ensures that our firm is maintaining relationships with high quality reporters. Sarah is looking forward to continued growth with the company while taking depositions that challenge her skills to make her a better reporter. She enjoys being on her steno machine while being able to work behind the scenes at B&A.
In her free time, she likes to spend time with her husband, Nikolai, and their Rhodesian Ridgeback, Dash. They are currently preparing for their new baby arriving this fall.
Today is also her birthday!!! Happy Birthday, Sarah! Thank you for your hard work and dedication!
Last weekend, Seattle celebrated Pride. We were honored to be recognized as the 13th largest LGBTQ-owned business in the Puget Sound. This recognition came from the Puget Sound Business Journal.
To be eligible for this recognition, businesses need to have been certified by the National Gay and Le***an Chamber of Commerce. Our company recently obtained this certification.
In observance of The Fourth of July, our staff will not be in the office; however, our court reporters and videographers are available for depositions. Please notify us if you may have any day-of needs that we can prepare for.
In observance of Juneteenth, our staff will not be in the office on Monday, June 20th; however, our court reporters and videographers are available for depositions. Please notify us if you may have any day-of needs that we can prepare for.
Next Monday, June 20th, is Juneteenth. Last year, we had the privilege of supporting the Northwest African American Museum’s Juneteenth Jamboree and Youth Night Drive-in.
This year, the Northwest African American Museum is holding events all week to celebrate, educate, and commemorate Juneteenth. Please check out the link below to see how you can get involved!
Meet our Technical Director!
Allison Borgida has always been such a creative and innovative force. From a young age, she was absolutely fascinated by film and television. So much so that she actually pursued acting as a child, auditioning for Nickelodeon and Disney Channel. It wasn’t until her senior year of high school when she took a video production class that she finally realized where her true passion lies; behind the camera.
Allison attended the Edward R. Murrow College of Communication at Washington State University. She graduated in 2017 with a Bachelor’s in Journalism & Media Production with an emphasis on Broadcast Production. She also received a minor in Criminal Justice & Criminology. Shortly after, Allison began her career with us in 2018 as an Associate Videographer. Over the past four years, Allison has worked proficiently to learn the skills and knowledge to be successful in the field and with our company. Last year, she was promoted to Technical Director and works as our lead for many of our corporate and creative projects. Allison continues to enhance her skills and knowledge. In addition to assuming responsibility for the company’s social media, she is teaching herself WordPress to support our clients’ virtual and hybrid events.
Our company has thoroughly enjoyed watching Allison grow into her position and our company. Allison enjoys spending time with her friends and family in her free time and also enjoys participating in video projects within the Seattle community. She is looking forward to more success and growth in her career and with the company
Earlier this month, we recorded the spring concert for the Federal Way Chorale! The performance featured the Schubert Mass in G Major and other choral and popular favorites. The group was under the musical direction of Thomas Almli. Mr. Almli is the director of choral music activities at Bellevue College.
The performance featured a wide range of music such as the Three Madrigals by Emma Lou Diemer to Some Nights by FUN. The audience was so engaged with all of the performers! There were also a few soloists throughout the show that brought a lot of high energy to the show.
This was our first performance with the Federal Way Chorale, however we have recorded many performances for the Federal Way Symphony. It has been a pleasure to watch all of this talent from these diverse groups based out of Federal Way. We are looking forward to more shows with them!

DC photo dump! 📸
Our ThirdReel team, Allison Borgida, Steve Crandall, and Guy Staley, had the opportunity to explore Washington DC a bit while working the Fred Hutch conference. Here are a few photos from their trip!
Production number from the wonderful show, Afterwords! Still playing through the rest of this week!
A couple weeks ago, our team traveled to Washington DC for Fred Hutch’s HVTN (HIV) CoVPN (COVID) Full Group Meeting. This was their first in-person conference in two years! This was also our first collaboration of a hybrid conference with Fred Hutch. Meaning, not only did we stream the in-person presenters to a custom-built platform, but we also were able to bring in remote presenters from around the world!
Attendees who chose to attend the conference virtually were able to attend via the custom platform. Those attendees were able to watch the plenaries and the breakout room presentations from wherever they were in the world. Given the diverse group of attendees, we worked with our translation partners, Infinity Translations, to help provide translation in several languages for both the in-person and virtual attendees.
The conference started off right with a table-side chat with Fred Hutch CEO, Larry Corey, and the great Dr. Anthony Fauci! Thanks to a huge collaborative effort the hybrid conference was a resounding success, with many in-person and virtual attendees and presenters. We’d like to give a special thanks to Jerry Ockfen Copeland and his Fred Hutch team, Infinity Translations, Encore, and the Omni Shoreham hotel for hosting. We can’t wait for the next one!
Jerry Ockfen Copeland considering his breakfast options for the last day of the HVTN CoVPN Full Group Meeting. Jerry does the heavy lifting that makes the rest of us look good. We are grateful for his partnership.
Day 2 of the HVTN/CoVPN Full Group Meeting for Fred Hutch taking place in Washington DC!
This was such an amazing performance! We are so glad we could be there to capture it 😍
Last concert of the ’21-’22 season!
Last Sunday, we shot the last live performance of the ’21-’22 season for the Federal Way Symphony! We have been recording all of the live performances since last October at the Federal Way Performing Arts Center.
This show featured music from a variety of composers including Johann Sebastian Bach, Franz Joseph Haydn, Samuel Barber, and more! During Joaquin Rodrigo’s composition of Sant Francesc i la cigala (St. Francis and the Cicada) there was a soloist performance done by Puerto Rican Soprano, Elizabeth Galafa Ylaya. Elizabeth has been a vocalist for many years and has experience performing in the Seattle Opera, the Symphony Tacoma, and much more. She even received an Encouragement Award at the 2018 Seattle Opera Guild Awards.
The audience was so engaged in both the performances of Elizabeth and the symphony! It was a great note to end the season on. We are looking forward to the Symphony’s next season of live shows!
Meet our CEO & Founder!
Steve Crandall has such a passion for technological innovation that it has influenced his career path from the beginning. After 30 years in law, Steve retired from the Bar and had what most call a “mid-life crisis” but what he likes to call a ‘mid-life renewal’. Steve received an Associate's degree in Video Production from the Art Institute of Seattle in 2004.
Shortly after, Steve founded ProMotion Arts, which later became ProMotion Holdings. The company’s first opportunity presented itself when Starbucks needed to convert a VHS to DVD so that their partner could take to London the next morning. Steve went and picked up the tape himself. After authoring the DVD, he went online and found the most recent annual report, picked up the current branding, and used that to build a custom menu and DVD label. Steve went above and beyond to get this done and Starbucks was blown away by his dedication, and that is how a long-term partnership was born.
Since then, the company has grown both organically and through acquisitions and just recently completed its first sale of a company that was acquired back in 2013. At present, the company operates under two brands, ThirdReel and B&A Litigation Services.
“We’ve got a highly functioning team that allows me to focus on strategic initiatives and not have to worry about the day to day since I know our clients are well cared for.” – Steve Crandall
After many years in law, Steve describes himself as a repressed creative, which is why he really loves the technology and the challenges that come with it. He enjoys spending time with his husband of 35 years and their new puppy, Dexter. They enjoy walks and bike rides around the West Seattle area. Steve is really looking forward to traveling again as the world begins to open up.
This weekend is the 94th Academy Awards ceremony. Steven Spielberg's new movie, West Side Story, has been nominated for many Oscars, including Best Picture.
A few years ago, we shot The 5th Avenue Theatre's production of West Side Story! Here is a throwback to the sizzle we created for their show! This was such a fun show for our team. The cast and production were absolutely incredible.
West Side Story is a well-known musical production based in 1957 in New York City that explores forbidden love and two rival gangs, the Jets and the Sharks, vying for control of the streets.
Zoom has been a near constant in everyone’s lives over the last couple of years. Our team are experts at using Zoom and can offer tech support in many different ways. From configuring the meeting to actively managing the speakers and panelists, we’ve done it all and bring our years of experience to make your meeting a success.
From integrating Zoom into our livestreams by embedding the meeting into custom-built platforms to utilizing its closed captioning and interpretation functions to support clients virtually during the pandemic, we take the stress out of hosting mission-critical Zoom meetings. Recently, we supported a public candidates forum for the Sustainable Port Chester Alliance, which is located on the East Coast. We actively managed the visual display and designed the meeting so that the candidates and moderator were the only people with the ability to speak. Audience members could see and hear the candidates but could not unmute themselves and disrupt the discussion. We also offered live interpretation into Spanish and closed captioning for the event, all done through Zoom. The meeting was recorded into both Spanish and English and made available for those unable to attend the meeting in person.
Zoom has many capabilities and can be a lifesaving platform in our new hybrid and virtual world. Our techs are Zoom experts and are here to support you!
