We’re about to let you in on one of our favorite pro secrets: in the studio, turn off the lights.

If it’s a little cloudy outside, bump your ISO from 100 to around 200–300, then adjust your aperture and shutter speed for proper exposure. On bright, sunny days, keep your ISO around 100 and tweak your other settings until the exposure is just right. Either way, let natural light take the lead—you’ll end up with richer, truer colors and that polished, high-end feel without hours of editing.

Why it’s a total game-changer:
-Natural light keeps colors accurate—no weird yellow or blue cast from overhead bulbs

-Softer, more flattering shots without harsh facial shadows

-Less time in post, because your colors are already spot-on
