Before red velvet suits and chimneys, there was the North.
Before Santa, there was the Sámi noaidi—the Arctic shaman, keeper of reindeer paths, drum songs, and winter light. ❄️🦌

In the deep dark of the Winter Solstice, Sámi wisdom keepers journeyed between worlds, guided by reindeer—sacred beings who could traverse snow, sky, and spirit. The shaman’s red-and-white garments mirrored the land itself, echoing the colors of the Amanita muscaria mushroom 🍄, a powerful symbol in northern folklore, long associated with vision quests, renewal, and the return of the sun.

Stories speak of gifts carried through snowbound villages, blessings delivered through smoke holes of lavvu tents, and ecstatic drum journeys to restore harmony between people, animals, and the unseen realms.

Santa did not arrive from nowhere.
He evolved from ancestral winter wisdom, earth-honoring traditions, and the original keepers of the light.

This season, may we remember the old stories.
May we honor Indigenous Arctic cultures.
May the reindeer guide us home.
May the light return. 🌟

Today, from the red rocks of Sedona to the bones of Jerome, Arizona, I receive the blessings of Earth.
Winter Solstice—known across cultures as the long night of remembering—marks the sacred pause when the Sun stands still and life turns inward to renew its promise.

From ancient stone circles to desert mesas, our ancestors gathered at this threshold to honor darkness as womb, silence as teacher, and Earth as kin.
May this longest night return us to humility, listening, and the quiet knowing that light is never lost—only resting.

May we walk gently, remember our belonging, and rise together with the returning sun. 🌑🌞

All basics help. Solstice blessings dear hearts.
My greatest challenges have been a recent ER visit for myself and an acute alcoholic friend “lodged” without my consent, in my commercial/residential space in Jerome. I have been working towards a treatment program with him, however I’ve been unable to open my location (until today) due to his mental health and addiction antics.
Non violent to me thus far, 💙is real and comes in many forms, as too many people know.
A very pressing need for your continued prayers and any financial support is a blessing, while I now get back on my feet. I may not know what the future holds, but I know who holds the future.
I know your hearts and feel your presence. Kindness not forgotten.
