Camping on the moon with our Noovo Lite van in Southern Utah 🌚 🩶 🚐 || Sponsored

📍We spent 2 nights camped out here in Hanksville, Utah - sleeping beside Factory Butte and (my favorite) right along the edge of Moon Overlook (that’s its name) 😮!!

📌 Save for your future Southern Utah camping adventures & share with the person you want to camp here with!

Not going to lie.. it was EPIC! The skies; the textures; the shapes; the hues; the most spectacular views... all make for the most out-of-this-world camping experience!

💲 Oh, and it’s free to camp here! Just be sure to practice ALL the Leave No Trace principles (pack out everything, obey OHV signage and more)! There are no restrooms, no water or facilities of any kind!

Know what made this experience even better, though? Having all the comforts and luxuries we could dream of …

Some of the many amazing features of the Noovo (Noovo Lite) van include:

✔️ Incredible off-grid capabilities - 40 gallon water tanks and robust lithium batteries for dayssss worth of off grid living!
✔️ Connectivity - I was easily able to keep up with work; stream tv shows; make zoom calls (etc) from anywhere with its Starlink satellite internet!
✔️ Built for four seasons of comfort - year round living! Temps reached below 30 degrees the one night and we stayed toasty the entire time thanks to its phenomenal heater! (Also has AC and more).
✔️ So much storage! I definitely was not use to it and was in organization heaven!
✔️ On demand hot water (felt great to shower after getting blasted with dust and dirt by those desert winds) and a flushable toilet (another luxury I’m not use to having in my truck camper 😆).

👉🏻 If you’re curious to see more, check out their Instagram and see my ”Noovo” story highlight (on instagram: )!

✨ And if you’re interested in one for yourself, mention my name to receive a free Adventure Pack!

❓Would you camp on the edge of the moon in a luxury, off-grid van like this?

Hopped the state-line into SoCal for a little day trip from Las Vegas! And it looked a little something like this ⤵️

A total day of R&R…

🧋enjoying some tasty treats from a local farm (including the best shake I’ve ever had 🤤 )
🌴 sauntering through rows and rows of palm trees
☀️ basking in the sunshine
🌼 peeping desert wildflowers in bloom

I know, I know: I’ve been in Vegas for a hot minute and even though I spent the day in Southern California, it was still just a short jaunt from the city (which shouldn’t be surprising because, again, Las Vegas is the perfect outdoor-adventure base 🥹).

HOWEVER… we are heading out of Nevada on a super cool adventure in just a couple days and I’m so stoked! We’re going to be exploring some new-to-us places (as well as revisiting a classic favorite)! 🤩 🎉 🚐

❓ Drop 2-3 emojis that portray your next adventure! Are your upcoming adventure plans looking like 🌴💦🤿? Or 🏜️✨🔭? Or 🏔️ 🏕️ 🥾? Or how about 🌸 🌼 📸 ??

Places in the USA that don’t feel like the USA (pt.1)

Feel like you’ve been transported to Spain or Mexico for the evening by visiting these gorgeous, historic and cultural sites in Tucson, Arizona!

𝐒𝐭𝐞𝐚𝐥 𝐦𝐲 ‘𝐟𝐫𝐞𝐞 & 𝐟𝐮𝐧 𝐞𝐯𝐞𝐧𝐢𝐧𝐠 𝐢𝐧 𝐓𝐮𝐜𝐬𝐨𝐧’ 𝐢𝐭𝐢𝐧𝐞𝐫𝐚𝐫𝐲 𝐛𝐞𝐥𝐨𝐰 ⬇️

📌 𝘚𝘢𝘷𝘦 𝘧𝘰𝘳 𝘺𝘰𝘶𝘳 𝘧𝘶𝘵𝘶𝘳𝘦 𝘛𝘶𝘤𝘴𝘰𝘯 𝘢𝘥𝘷𝘦𝘯𝘵𝘶𝘳𝘦𝘴 & 𝘴𝘩𝘢𝘳𝘦 𝘸𝘪𝘵𝘩 𝘺𝘰𝘶𝘳 𝘣𝘦𝘴𝘵 𝘢𝘥𝘷𝘦𝘯𝘵𝘶𝘳𝘦𝘴 𝘱𝘢𝘭𝘴!

🕍Historic Mission San Xavier del Bac - start by exploring this gorgeous Spanish Colonial / Baroque architecture. Not only is it the oldest European structure in Arizona (built in 1797), but it’s also known as “The White Dove of the Desert”. It’s about 10 miles south of Tucson on the Tohono O’odham reservation.

🌇 Next, head to Barrio Viejo - an old Tucson neighborhood with rich history and known for colorful adobe houses, Mexican cantinas and its many brewpubs + retro-style cocktail bars.

Once here, be sure to…

🌈 See the “Painted Ladies” down around Meyer Ave & 18th and all the colorful adobe homes!

🕯️Visit the El Tiradito “Wishing Shrine” and learn about its fascinating history

🎭 Walk by the historic Teatro Carmen (currently under restoration).

🎨 Admire all the stunning murals painted amid the neighborhood! Some of my favorites are:
•La Suprema Works & Events mural by Isaac Caruso
•La Pilita Cultural Center mural, Barrio Viejo
•Johanna Martinez mural, Barrio Viejo
•A monsoon inspired mural by Jessica Gonzales

____ (not free portion):

🌮 Try the famous cheese crisps from El Minuto Cafe (authentic Mexican restaurant since 1936).

☕️ 5 Points Market & Restaurant - a sunlit, modern outpost featuring new American dishes, espresso drinks and a small grocery market

🍸 Sip on craft cocktails at Nightjar - Located in the same beautiful and historic 160 year old property as the Coronet Restaurant and Cafe

Happy exploring and Happy New Year, all! 🥂🫶🏻

❓Have you ever seen this side of Tucson, Arizona before?

Officially spent the last month exploring the southeast corner of Arizona with Bisbee, AZ being our base!

This goes without saying, but the town of Bisbee should be on everyone’s bucket-list and is my favorite little AZ town to-date (the cutest)! I’ll definitely be sharing a more comprehensive guide on this area asap.

However, in the meantime, here’s a few highlights and destinations near Bisbee to add to your list:

📍Tombstone - a legendary and historic Wild West town! Walk back in time along Allen Street (photo 1); grab a drink in an old western saloon, tour the Bird Cage Theatre and the O.K. Coral; enjoy the live performances and actors and even hop on board a ghost tour; visit Boothill Graveyard and so much more!

📍Chiricahua National Monument- one of the best national monuments in the country (IMO)! Hiking the Big Loop Trail is a MUST! Unreal! And not to mention ALL the wildlife (like coatis 🥹)!!

📍Coronado Cave and Coronado National Memorial - as you’ve seen in yesterday’s reel, this cave hike is insane and I feel no one talks about it (mind blown 🤯)! See much more info in yesterday’s reel + caption.

📍Whitewater Draw Wildlife Area - witness the mesmerizing migration / roosting of Sandhill Cranes (I mean we’re talking major numbers - thousands upon thousands of them)! And view many other waterfowl and wetland bird species, too!

📍And, of course, Bisbee itself!

✨Guide coming soon with many more adventures in southeastern, Arizona 🫶🏻

❓Have you explored any of these gems yet? What’s your favorite underrated place in SE Arizona?

❓❓Lastly, where do you think we’re heading next?? 😀

Alaska in the winter is 1000% total magic and I couldn’t recommend traveling here during the winter season, at least once in your life, more!!

Why?…

🌄 For starters, it alwaysss looks like golden hour when the sun is out!
🥾 Never saw a single other soul on the trails (even in Denali).
🦟 No bugs! (Need I say more)?
✈️ Tours, lodging and most all travel costs are much cheaper off-season!
🛥 Can even book most tours last minute (we booked all of ours the day before).
🐺 Still lots of chances to see wildlife (minus the hibernating ones 🐻)! Was blessed to see a pack of wolves from the air, tons and tons of moose, mountain goat + so much marine life etc!
🌌 Chance to see the Northern Lights! (Which we did, but this was before I was any good at capturing such things 😭 🎥 📷).
❄️ Again, it looks like the most perfect, magical winter wonderland!
🌧 Don’t have to worry much about rain, eh? If you ask me, snow is much more fun to adventure in!!!
🥶 Isn’t it COLD? Wasn’t bad when I went (all of November)! It was consistently between 20-34 degrees (which, with the right gear and layers, I felt toasty when hiking!). There were a few cold mornings before sunrise (especially closer to Denali). But, the coast was much milder.
👉🏻 Need more convincing? Swipe through the carousel to see just a smidge of its beauty!

⭐️ For much more information on traveling to Alaska in the winter (like what epic adventures to go on), check out my blog post “𝐖𝐢𝐧𝐭𝐞𝐫 𝐀𝐜𝐭𝐢𝐯𝐢𝐭𝐢𝐞𝐬 𝐢𝐧 𝐀𝐥𝐚𝐬𝐤𝐚: 𝟏𝟎 𝐀𝐝𝐯𝐞𝐧𝐭𝐮𝐫𝐞𝐬 𝐨𝐟 𝐚 𝐋𝐢𝐟𝐞𝐭𝐢𝐦𝐞” - 🔗 in bio!

🏔 Honestly, Alaska is one of my top favorite places in the world and I’ve been longing to return ever since!!

❓Do you enjoy traveling to colder, wintry wonderland destinations?

🚐 Switching things up a bit this week, everyone! Rather than a campsite in the wilderness or near some sort of natural expanse - we’re staying in our truck camper literally steps from downtown Bisbee!

And… I’m kinda digging the change of pace (momentarily)! Especially when the town is 𝘵𝘩𝘪𝘴 awesome!! 1000% recommend adding this place to your Arizona bucket-list!! And it’s so fun walking to town for dinner, beers, art, history, shopping + more whenever we like!

I’m always more of a nature v. town/city type of person.. so the fact I am so stoked to be here speaks volumes on how much I adore this town 🥲. Besides, the mountains and giant rocks surrounding the town ALL over is quite the sight to see in itself! ⛰️

🌵 Along with exploring the town (so much to see and do there), we’ll also be checking out some new-to-us trails in the nearby mountains (or should I say “sky islands 😀”). Not to mention, we’re nearby one of my all-time favorite national monuments that I may just have to revisit pronto!!

👀 Stay tuned as I share much more of Bisbee and surrounding area (including a guide + more, soon). I’ll also be sharing more on Kanab, Utah; Eastern Sierras etc!

❓Have you been to Bisbee, Arizona? And why is it so overwhelmingly charming?? Ahh.. like the best!!! 🥹💯

About Me

My name is Mindy and I am an avid adventurer and traveler. I was bit by the travel bug at a young age, but never had the means to travel until I became an "adult" myself (and yes, the quotations are definitely required there. Forever a child at heart). Currently, I "work to travel" (as I like to say) and thus, live a very unconventional life. My husband and I are freelancers in the film industry and work on various reality/doc tv shows for a multitude of networks such as Travel Channel, Animal Planet, NBC, Discovery, A&E, Starz etc. Our work keeps us constantly moving and constantly on our toes...and, when we're not working - you best believe we're still on the move. Always. Because we love to travel as often and as far as possible. We also like to travel on a budget. LESS money we spend in one destination, the MORE we can travel (Duh!). I've learned many tricks and money saving tips along my journeys that I want to share. Not only that, but I also pride myself in finding the BEST (scenic) places everywhere I go and am pretty awesome at creating itineraries (geared towards an adventurous trip) and would love to share all these things as well. Furthermore, I want to share my experiences (good and bad) because, after all, travel is about having first-hand encounters with the world, learning and growing as a human being every step of the way. I'm obsessed with all things WILD and nature is everything to me. My hopes are to inspire others to break free from their comfort zones. To be unafraid. To push their limits. TO HAVE FUN. LIVE LIFE. To open their eyes to all the beauty in this world. To get out there and simply MOVE all over the globe. :-)📷
