As book readers, do you find yourselves always finishing the books you start? Oprah Winfrey once shared her rule of giving a book either 100 pages, she later revised it to 50 pages before deciding whether to continue or not. Personally, I still struggle with the guilt of not finishing a book, especially when updating Goodreads. How about you?

🎉 Exciting news! Author and financial advisor Jonathan Grimm just got his powerful new book "The Future Poor" on the shelves at the legendary Vroman's Bookstore in Pasadena! 📚✨
There's nothing quite like seeing your book displayed in a beloved independent bookstore. Vroman's has been a literary landmark since 1894, and now Jonathan's important work has found its home there. (Photo is from my own visit with my husband, Evan Stitt in 2023).
📖 Authors: Your local bookstore wants to support you! Building relationships with independent booksellers can open doors you never imagined. They're passionate advocates for books and often eager to showcase local and emerging authors.

🌍 Author Douglas Brouwer just shared something exciting - he facilitated his first family travel retreat last month!

A multi-generational family who read Doug's book, "The Traveler's Path" invited Doug to help them reflect on their international experiences. They spent a day creating "life maps" and exploring how travel has shaped their family story across generations.
The magic happened when three generations came together - grandchildren's creativity, parents' insights, grandparents' wisdom - all centered around the places that changed them.

Doug discovered something powerful: families are traveling more than ever but rarely pause to reflect deeply on those experiences. That's where transformation happens - where good memories become lasting legacy.

If your family takes meaningful trips together, Doug would love to help you create space for deeper conversation about those journeys.

Interested in a family travel reflection experience? Reach out to Doug directly! Here's his Substack: https://substack.com/

A Presbyterian pastor for nearly 45 years - most recently in Zürich, Switzerland - I am also the author of eight books. The Traveler's Path was published in March.

Vroman's Bookstore is Southern California's Largest & Oldest Independent Bookstore. It opened and has been serving the Pasadena community since 1894. Author, Jonathan Grimm just got his book "The Future Poor" placed in the "Local Author" section at Vroman's.
Jonathan and his family lost their home and all of their possessions in the Altadena fire, just as his book, "The Future Poor" was about to be published earlier this year. We had to halt publication so that Jonathan and his wife could focus on finding a new home and help their kids adjust to this huge life event.
To say that it's been a journey is such an understatement. This week's Front Edge Publishing blog post is about celebrating this milestone on Jonathan's publishing journey. Enjoy these joyful photos. https://frontedgepublishing.com/bricks-and-mortar.../

I graduated from Michigan State University with a degree in Merchandise Management from the College of Human Ecology (which no longer exists) a long time ago. It's intriguing how life has led me to spend my "gray" years creating and promoting book trailers for the MSU Bias Busters. Check out my latest creation for the new cultural competence guide, "100 Questions and Answers About U.S. Catholics".

Watch the trailer here:

“100 Questions and Answers About U.S. Catholics” addresses the basic questions people have about the world’s largest church and how it operates in the United...
