President Donald Trump recently weighed in on the growing concerns surrounding artificial intelligence.

There have been numerous reports and warnings about the rapid advancement of AI, including concerns about what could happen if the technology becomes increasingly difficult for humans to control.

World News | Oil Supply Concerns

A major Saudi Arabian oil pipeline was struck by drones in an attack Saudi Arabia says came from Iran-backed militias in Iraq.

The attack damaged the critical East-West Pipeline, which carries millions of barrels of oil toward the Red Sea. Repairs are expected to take 3–5 weeks, although the pipeline could operate partially during that time.

At the same time, Iran-backed Houthi rebels in Yemen are escalating attacks and gaining control near key Red Sea shipping routes, adding even more pressure to global oil supplies.

Oil prices have already climbed amid the disruptions, raising concerns about what this could eventually mean for gas and diesel prices in the U.S.

Local Appreciation Days return to Alcatraz East Crime Museum!

From September 18-30, 2026, Alcatraz East Crime Museum is inviting area residents and employees to explore the museum at a special local admission rate.

Residents and employees of the following counties are eligible: Sevier, Knox, Jefferson, Cocke, Blount

Local admission | $15 + tax per person

Hamblen County, Tenn- Three people have been indicted following a Tennessee Bureau of Investigation investigation involving allegations of inappropriate sexual contact with a minor.

According to the TBI, special agents began investigating Allen Fox on June 25 at the request of 3rd Judicial District Attorney General Dan Armstrong. Investigators allege Fox had been engaged in sexual activity with a juvenile beginning in December 2022.

TBI says its investigation also found that two of Fox’s relatives, Kristen Fox and Cynthia Doty, director of Hamblen County Juvenile Court Services, allegedly had knowledge of the relationship and did not report it to authorities.

On September 14, a Hamblen County Grand Jury returned the following indictments:

• Allen Fox- Sexual Exploitation of a Minor and Aggravated Statutory R**e. Bond: $100,000.

• Kristen Fox- Facilitation of Aggravated Statutory R**e and Failure to Report Known or Suspected Child Sexual Abuse. Bond: $10,000.

• Cynthia Doty- Failure to Report Known or Suspected Child Sexual Abuse and Accessory After the Fact. Bond: $10,000.

All three were arrested and booked into the Hamblen County Jail, according to TBI.

The charges are accusations only. All defendants are presumed innocent unless and until proven guilty in a court of law.
