We value things like mystery, wonder, abundance, and justice here at Dandelion Marketplace. God transcends human experience and language. While God is not incomprehensible, God is mystery to us. We can attempt to put language to our experiences with the divine, but at the end of the day, we can’t fit God in one box, building, or creed.

Our response to the mysterious divine is wonder, awe, and curiosity. We release the illusion that we must categorize and other. We ask questions rather than make accusations or assumptions. We open our hands rather than point fingers. Our jaws drop rather than clench.

Creation is wrapped in dignity that cannot be taken by another. We need each other. God’s special spark is in each of us, and when we love, collaborate, and care for all of creation, there is enough. We aren’t there yet, and we join in the movement toward God’s dream of liberation, freedom, and Jubilee. We use our gifts and divine callings to dismantle oppressive systems and forces, wherever they manifest – including within ourselves. We listen, we learn, we act.

We've got work to do, people. One of Dandelion's values is justice. God's justice is one in which we collectively care for the widow, orphan, immigrant. Over and over again, God speaks through the prophets with the same message: turning back to God inherently means caring for neighbor. These two concepts are intertwined, and you can't separate them. Loving God and loving neighbor - it's the most basic teaching of Jesus. Loving neighbor is not passive, and when our neighbor is suffering or oppressed, followers of Jesus are required to act. What role does justice play in your life?

Don't let them tell you we don't have enough. We do. One of Dandelion's values is abundance. This earth is teeming with enough water, enough food, enough land, enough. Every human being is enough. Now - that doesn't mean that everyone has enough, and that's where the work is. Approaching life through the lens of abundance isn't naive or turning a blind eye to injustice. The lens of abundance is a lens of hope - that things ought to be different, and they CAN BE because there is enough! We aren't doomed to war, to starvation, to genocide, to homelessness, to suffering. We just aren't. There is a better way. What role does abundance play in your life?
