📍Bookworm Gardens Livermore Loop
1415 Campus Dr, Sheboygan, WI 53081
A new Trail Tuesday destination has officially made my list. 🌿
The Livermore Loop is a half-mile natural-surface trail on Bookworm Gardens' expanded property. It's open daily from sunrise to sunset, year-round, and is free to visit, including during the off-season.
A few things to know before you go:
🌿 The path is not paved, but it was beautifully mowed and very soft underfoot.
🐾 Pets are not allowed, although service animals are welcome.
🚫 There are no restrooms on the loop.
🎨 Art installations are placed along the trail, giving you little discoveries as you walk.
📚 Right at the beginning of the trail, you'll also find the Wisconsin Historical Society's “Thinking Big Is What We Do” History Walk, currently on display through February 2027.
One thing I wasn't expecting was the traffic noise. The loop runs right alongside Highway 43, so this isn't necessarily the quiet woodland escape you might expect from a nature trail. I actually found the contrast interesting, with a natural landscape and art installations on one side and the constant movement of the highway on the other.
Still, it's a completely different way to experience Bookworm Gardens, and I'm excited to see how this new space evolves.
