Not sure what to post this summer? Start here.
One of the biggest mistakes I see small businesses make is posting the same type of content over and over again. The best social media accounts have a healthy mix that keeps people interested while building trust over time. This summer, aim for a content mix that looks something like this: 30% educational content that answers common customer questions, 25% behind-the-scenes and personality-driven content that helps people get to know you, 20% social proof like customer testimonials, reviews, and completed projects, 15% community-focused content highlighting local events, partnerships, or other small businesses, and only about 10% direct promotional posts. When every post is a sales pitch, people tune out. When you consistently provide value, people pay attention.
Summer is actually one of the best times to build relationships because many of your competitors slow down or stop posting altogether. Keep showing up, share your expertise, let people see the faces behind your business, celebrate your community, and tell authentic stories that connect with your audience. By the time they're ready to buy, they won't just recognize your business, they'll trust it. That's the power of the Know, Like, Trust, Call approach. Social Boost of Southeast Michigan transforms businesses into a story worth telling.
