Often times, we can stop short of achieving greatness because of the cost it takes to get there. I love to empower people to dream big and believe, but it would be a disservice to not tell you the about the behind the scenes grit.
Success won’t show up at your door. It takes hard work and determination and your dreams won’t happen over night. There’s a process you must walk through first. The process is less than glamorous and there’s no cookie cutter path. You may even feel like quitting most days, thinking it'd be easier to just give up all together. It sometimes looks like early mornings, getting your practice in before the sun rises, and staying up late trying to get your school work done, all while trying to balance a social life and invest in relationships. It requires sacrifice and time poured into mastering your sport or skill. Day after day after day. But all of this is what produces grit. It’s what shapes us and prepares us.
Don’t stop short. Keep taking steps, keep dreaming, and keep saying “yes” to showing up, even when it doesn’t look glamorous and no one is watching.
