Appleton Police Department Launches New Public Safety Alert Phone App
APPLETON, WI (February 19, 2020): The Appleton Police Department has launched a free phone app that is dedicated to alerting the community in times of emergency.
On 02/19/2020, The Appleton Police Department went live with a new public safety app to enhance our communication with the community during emergencies. The “YOU Get It First” phone app will provide anyone who downloads the app with emergency notifications and real-time updates sent straight to their mobile phone. The app is free to use and can be downloaded in the App Store or Google Play. The Appleton Police Department plans on using the app to alert the public on occurrences such as missing children, road closures, active incidents involving a large police presence and large traffic crashes.
To better address the needs of our community and further our emergency communication we would like to provide critical information to all that live, work and visit the City of Appleton. All notifications are sent and monitored by Appleton Police authorized personnel. This app will not replace any existing communication platforms but, will become a vital tool for our department.
