Currently as one of our state representatives, Cedric Glover is delivering real resources and opportunities both in and outside of his present district at an unprecedented and history making level. If given the chance to become our next senator, he will do even more.
During the recently televised KTBS forum for Senate District 39 the candidates were given 30 seconds to answer the following fourth and final question:
“Name the top project for this region that you have personally taken the lead role in delivering to Northwest Louisiana.”
Glover’s quick answer was a mix of both old and new projects he’s led that included $3.7 million for renovations to the Hirsch Coliseum, $30 million from back in 1999 to construct the SkyBox and renovate Independence Stadium and $75 million for the new, fully funded downtown state building.
Had he been given more time, Glover would have detailed much, much more. From securing state funding for neighborhood street and drainage repairs to economic development related infrastructure improvements that will help our region to better compete for high quality, well paying jobs.
The list from just this current legislative term includes the following:
*$75 million for the new and fully funded Northwest Louisiana State Building
*$41 million for infrastructure upgrades and bridge repairs within the Shreveport Healthcare and Innovation Corridor
*$16.6 million to repair and renovate the Professor Louis M. Collier Science Building at SUSLA
*$8.7 million towards constructing a new gymnasium at SUSLA
*$8.375 million for streets and drainage within the University Park Subdivision
*$3.55 million for renovation and improvements to the Hirsch Coliseum
*$2.34 million for a new east side entrance to the Louisiana State Fairgrounds
*$2.12 million to extend the Bert Kouns Industrial Loop at Greenwood Road into the 313 acre Resilient Technology Park
*$700,000.00 to continue funding Project Swim, an effort started in the aftermath of the tragic drownings of the six Stewart and Warner children that has provided over 18,000 free basic water safety and introduction to swimming lessons to the children of Northwest Louisiana
*$150,000.00 to the Village of Gilliam, LA to convert a donated building into a Community Support Facility
*New state-of-the-art Shreveport based Office of Motor Vehicles
Let’s keep Cedric fighting for us by electing him as our next Senator from District 39!!!
