Most people see a cookie.

Linda and Jane see a canvas.

What started as a retirement hobby has grown into Nana's Sweet Treasures, a local Sierra Vista business creating incredible custom cookies that are almost too beautiful to eat.

In this episode of Cochise County Veteran Owned Business Thursday at 5, we sit down with Linda Borgstad and Jane McKee to learn how a retired nurse and her friend turned creativity, faith, and determination into a thriving business.

We talk about:
🍪 Custom cookie creations
🍪 Edible image printing technology
🍪 Their famous Guinness Beer Cookies
🍪 Building a business after retirement
🍪 Local vendor markets and community support
🍪 The power of customer feedback

Their story is proof that it's never too late to start something new.

Watch the full interview and show some love to another amazing local small business.

🚧 AVOID THE CONFUSION: EASIER ROUTE AVAILABLE AROUND CORONADO DRIVE CONSTRUCTION 🚧

As pavement reconstruction work continues on Coronado Drive between Avenida Cochise and Copper Dust Drive/Goldstone Street, many motorists are encountering confusion with the current detour and are finding themselves routed through residential neighborhoods before having to return to Buffalo Soldier Trail.

For drivers who are not traveling to homes or destinations located within the neighborhoods between Avenida Cochise and Buffalo Soldier Trail, an easier route may be available.

Motorists traveling north on Buffalo Soldier Trail who would normally continue onto Coronado Drive may wish to remain on Buffalo Soldier Trail and proceed to Avenida Cochise, then turn east on Avenida Cochise to continue their travels and avoid the active construction area.

Residents who live within the affected neighborhoods should continue using the access routes designated for local traffic.

The reconstruction project remains underway on Coronado Drive and is expected to continue for approximately two weeks. Drivers are encouraged to allow extra travel time, watch for construction signage, obey all traffic control devices, and use caution when traveling through the area.

📍 Construction Area:
Coronado Drive between Avenida Cochise and Copper Dust Drive/Goldstone Street

Suggested Through-Traffic Route:
Buffalo Soldier Trail north to Avenida Cochise, then east on Avenida Cochise

As always, traffic patterns may change as construction progresses. Motorists should follow all posted signs and any directions provided by construction crews or traffic control personnel.
