DOG MISSING IN SAME AREA AS ANOTHER DOG "SADIE" WHO WAS KILLED... An alarming turn of events has unfolded in the story we posted earlier today on Coolfmlive about a pet owner in Benson whose dog went missing last week but was later found killed by someone. We have just received this poster from a homeowner about her dog Cinder(Who is pregnant) missing from the same area. She saw the story and realized it might be a more serious situation for her dog as well.

Dog owner Misty Chantelle told Coolfmlive the following: She has never gone missing. I woke up on the morning of 12/31 to find that she was not with my other dogs when I fed them. I looked around asked neighbors with no luck. I posted on FB and checked with all the county shelters with no luck. Then the terrible thing happened to Sadie and it really made me concerned because no one has seen her and I find that very odd. We live less than 3/4 a mile from Jerrie (Sadie's owner) and I am praying my dog Cinder did not have the same fate. A side note: Sadie came from a litter from one of my other dogs. Coincidence??"

WHO KILLED SWEET SADIE ⁉️ Benson resident Jerrie Schoenrock posted the sad story of her dog who went missing but was later discovered deceased in a most intentional horrific way this past Friday January 2nd 2026.

Below is the original post words from Jerrie in Benson Shares chat page...

"Friday morning I posted that my Sweet Sadie girl had gone missing from our property sometime Thursday evening. Many of you offered help and prayers that she was found. After many of us searched for hours on end and some tips, we found her.
Unfortunately, she was deceased. That alone was hard enough to take as Sadie was very much a part of our family. Very loved and such a sweet, sweet girl. However, she didn't just die. Our dog was killed. She was taken from the property with some type of cable tied to her collar, was killed (major head trauma) and dumped down at the end of a dead-end road I guess hoping we would not find her. Her collar, with the cable still attached was removed and thrown into the wash so she could not be identified. It landed in a tree and was hanging there. Blood stained from the blood coming from her head. I can't begin to explain the heartbreak, devastation, pain and anger we felt at that moment. I'm sure any of you pet lovers can imagine.

The reason for this post is to first off update the outcome. Second, I would like to know if there is ANYONE that may live along the route from my house to where she was dumped that might have cameras that could look to see if there ANYTHING on them from maybe 7:30 Thursday night January 1st to Friday morning January 2nd that could help. Anything suspicious. Or anyone who knows anything. I know it is a long shot, but I just hate the thought of this happening to my Sadie and I certainly would not want anyone else to lose their pet from these inhumane individuals.

If you know of anything or see anything on your cameras, please message me. I appreciate it so much. Hold your babies tight and thank you to everyone who has tried to help. I am so grateful.

• I live off Rainbow Pl. in Benson. They would have gone from there taken a right onto E Morris, then a left on Pomerene then down to E 4th St, gone left all the way down to the dead end where she was dumped on the left. Just on the end of the bridge over the wash.

WHO IS THE POLKADOT PAJAMA BURGLAR⁉️
The Cochise County Sheriff's Office is requesting the public's assistance in investigating a recent burglary at the Uptown 3 Theater in South Sierra Vista. The suspects initially arrived on a motorcycle and were seen in the area again this evening. The theater has not been in use for a number of years.

Douglas Indivisible Holds Rally to Condemn Trump's Venezuela Actions: "No to Aggression and Kidnapping"

On Sunday, January 4, Douglas Indivisible members convened at Hwy 80 & Pan American in Douglas, AZ, from 3-4:30pm to protest President Trump's recent military strikes on Venezuelan vessels, including alleged fishermen, and the dramatic U.S. capture and transfer of President Nicolás Maduro to New York on narco-terrorism charges.

The group denounced the operations as illegal, immoral, and perilous, advocating due process for Maduro while highlighting the plight of asylum seekers. The rally demanded an end to U.S. aggression in Venezuela.
